Answer:	Yes, there are lashing straps. I'm not presently at home; I will be able to tell you the length on Sunday. I think this pack will serve your purpose as the hip belt is quite comfy. One down side: then buckles for the hip straps are a bit cheap and easily slip...they can be easily beefed up.

Answer:	It most likely will, I would have to know your application for that kind of setup. I use this for packing out elk. It works well for that but I dont carry an additional pack at the same time. Answer:	Absolutely women can use it. The pack is sized for a person with a torso length from 17-24 inches. If your torso length falls in that range then this pack will work for you. If you do not know your torso length you can measure it in the following way: When determining what size pack to buy, how tall you are is not nearly as important as your torso length. A short-legged person and a long-legged person may be exactly the same height, but require different sized packs. To measure your torso length, you will need some assistance and a flexible measuring device like a tailor's tape. Have a friend measure along your spine from the seventh vertebra (the bump where your shoulder meets the neck) down to a point even with the iliac crest (the top of the hip-bones). The distance along your spine between those two points is your torso length. When measuring for hipbelts, it is important to measure not the waist or where your pants ride, but in the center of your hipbone (1/2 inch below the top of the hips) where the hipbelt should be worn.

Answer:	I looked up what a Bearikade Weekender was (a bear proof canister) but I wasn't sure where you want to put it. This is my son's scout pack. He usually puts his sleeping bag in the bottom of the sack and straps his tent underneath. I suppose you could fit the Bearikade in the bottom of the sack but where would you put your sleeping bag & tent? Only so much space in that thing.

I purchased it for my 10 year old daughter to take to a sleep away summer camp and it has worked excellent for such purposes 2 years in a row. Answer:	As long as the teenager has a torso within the torso range of 9-14 in (23-36 cm). To measure a torso: Have a friend measure your back. Stand with your back to them and your hands on your hips like you are scolding someone. Your thumbs will point to a stop on your lower spine. Start from this point and measure up to the C-7 vertebrae, which is the one that sticks out of the back of your neck when you touch your chin to your chest. The measurement between these 2 points is your torso length.

Answer:	Yes. I found the backpack very uncomfortable and returned it

Answer:	Not easily. It’s a little small. Whomever is wearing it is gonna be too young to use the axe.
Question:	why isn't the shelf provided. I had to contact surplus stores to find one
Answer:	I would say no. This is a fairly small pack. You might be able to put it on, but wearing it while actually hiking does not seem like it would work very well. I would go with the Yukon 48.

Answer:	If you are talking about the medium ALICE pack, yes. Both a medium and large ALICE fit the same frame.

Answer:	different models; the one with the "shelf" is for comm gear, the radio guy who has to hump his pack plus the PRC 119 or PRC 77 with it as well. You're not going to want a "shelf" if you're trying to make a pack for hiking, camping or bug out (survival) bag. Stick with a medium to large ALICE pack with a regular frame, unless your wanting to have a frame for moving something hard & heavy for a short distance.

Answer:	At 5' 10" your torso length will probably be over 16" this making the Yukon too short of a pack to load weight well to your hips.

Answer:	I think it would work for you, however, there may be better options out there for you, even by Kelty. What killed it for me with this pack, is it did not have load lifter straps. It seemed like too much of the weight was sitting on my shoulders. 1 pack that I absolutely adore, is the Eberlestock Warhammer. It is a heavy pack but carries the weight like no other I've found. It literally makes 50lb feel like 30. Check out some reviews on Google and YouTube.
