Answer:	No,..... I did not! All & all I don't it is anything to concern yourself with. I don't remember seeing any springs on the inside of call when I took it apart.

Answer:	yes but blacktail are less aggressive. never use a deep grunt, blacktail are quieter and more subdued. better off making doe grunts to bring them in. last year a young buck came charging towards the blind within 15 feet off of doe grunts. thats about all I have for you. also if you are hunting california we are never hunting in the rut so none of the regular tactics work.

Answer:	I take a long piece of small auto vacuum line, and cut one side from end to end. I press one end together and press it into the finger hole until it bottoms out on the diaphragm, and then run another few inches of length into the can. I do this not only to keep it from making an unintentional bleat, but to keep the diaphragm from rattling. BEWARE: USE A PIECE THAT IS EXTRA LONG. Start with at least a foot. Trim only after you see how it works. You don't want to thread the entire length into the hole, and you will thread more into the can than just the length of the can. The idea is to keep a long piece hanging out of the can 4 or 5 inches after you pack some into the can. You can get inexpensive vacuum line at auto parts stores by the foot - or maybe Amazon.
