Answer:	It is a standard screw size but I don't have it handy without taking one out but I honestly don't think you will get enough torque with thumb screws as I had to retighten mine once with the allen head. i will say these are very heavy duty and excellent quality and I was peasently surprised. I put a tennis ball on a stick in them when I cover the boat so they don't stress the cover where I have them.

Question:	What is the measurement between the mounting screw holes
Answer:	Yes they do! You turn the holder 180 degrees and pull up and the holder pulls up out of the mount. We used a small amount of silicone crease inside the mount hole to make it easier to disengage. Takes a little practice. I can tell you we purchased 8 of the rod holders for our boat. We live on the Gulf of Mexico and boat/fish very frequently and we are very pleased with the quality of the holders! Hope this helps you!
