Answer:	It holds the rod firmly but if you have a high end bamboo rod I would be careful. It is really good for holding the rod for a couple minutes while you retie a fly. It does have a tendency to swing around, though, so will need to watch your tip.

Answer:	I don't know anything about bamboo rods. Its fine with a regular rod and a good place to hold it while attending to unruly fish without dropping your rod and reel in the gravel or on a rock.

Answer:	Yes, I don't see why not. If it is a heavy duty, surf casting rod it may not as the rod might not fit into the opening.

Answer:	I believe its only meant for 1 rod to be secured to it while on your vest or sling. I use mine in the float tube or while wading so i dont drop my rod in the drink. so i can take a fish off or change a fly or whatever. i would not try more than 1 rod attached to this as it is. out of all the gadgets i own for fly fishing, this is probably one of my favourites for sure. its expensive. but its worth it.
