Answer:	YES the clips are STAINLESS STEEL but the side shield of the clip seems very thin and might be a composite. It is a little on the thin side but still durable enough to hold about 30lbs of fish. I always carry one in each of my 9 tackle boxes and needed a few hooks for crab trap bait canisters. This product is durable in salt water too.
