12 best new crossbows
New crossbows are modern advancements in archery and hunting equipment, designed for sports and outdoor enthusiasts. Here's some information related to new crossbows:
Modern Technology: New crossbows incorporate the latest advancements in technology to improve accuracy, power, and ease of use. These technologies include precision triggers, advanced limbs, and efficient cam systems.
Crossbow Types: There are various types of crossbows, including compound crossbows and recurve crossbows. Compound crossbows use a system of cables and pulleys to generate significant power, while recurve crossbows have limbs that curve away from the shooter for a more traditional design.
Draw Weight and Speed: Crossbows are classified by their draw weight, which determines the force required to cock the bow. New crossbows come in a range of draw weights, with some capable of firing arrows at speeds exceeding 400 feet per second (fps). Higher draw weights often result in faster arrow speeds and greater accuracy at longer distances.
Compact Designs: Many new crossbows are designed to be more compact and lightweight, making them easier to handle and transport in the field. Compact crossbows are popular among hunters who need maneuverability in tight spaces.
Integrated Scopes and Optics: Crossbows often come with integrated scopes or optics designed for accuracy at various distances. These scopes can feature reticles specifically calibrated for crossbow shooting.
Safety Features: Crossbows typically include safety features such as anti-dry fire mechanisms, which prevent the bow from firing without an arrow in place, and automatic safety releases.
Cocking Mechanisms: Newer crossbows may feature integrated cocking mechanisms or devices, such as crank systems, to make it easier for users to draw the bowstring.
Noise Dampening: Some crossbows incorporate noise dampening technology to reduce the sound generated when firing, which can be crucial for hunting.
Bolt and Broadhead Compatibility: It's important to select bolts (crossbow arrows) and broadheads that are compatible with your specific crossbow model. Different crossbows may require specific bolt lengths and types of broadheads for optimal performance.
Legal Regulations: When using crossbows for hunting, it's essential to be aware of local and state regulations. Some regions have specific rules regarding crossbow use, including permitted hunting seasons and requirements for disabled hunters.
Maintenance: Like any piece of equipment, crossbows require regular maintenance to ensure they function correctly. This includes inspecting strings, cables, and limbs for wear and tear and lubricating moving parts as needed.
Accessories: Crossbow enthusiasts often use various accessories such as slings, quivers, and limb dampeners to enhance their crossbow setups and shooting experiences.
New crossbows offer improved performance and versatility, making them popular choices for archery, hunting, and outdoor sports.Whether you're an experienced archer or new to crossbows, selecting the right model for your needs and adhering to safety guidelines is essential for a successful and enjoyable experience.

User questions & answers
Question: | will this work on a horton summit hd 150 red dot package |
Answer: | This should work with any horton crossbow that is equipped with "dial a range". |
Question: | When i bought my horton it didnt not have the back sight and spring needed to install this mount. What size spring is needed and where can i find one |
Answer: | You may obtain this spring from a hardware store. Spring diameter is .048 Overall length is .603 Outside diameter is .274 |
Question: | Will this work on my horton legend hd175 where i have the lite rite 7/8" red dot scope which isn't any good and need to replace with different |
Answer: | I'm happy with my little scope and have harvested several deer thanks to it. I wish i could answer your question, but I will say that my crossbow is shooting true. |
Question: | My horton red dot scope was broken. will this base take the place of the one that comes with a horton summit xbow? it has a slot to fill |
Answer: | This rail replces the mounting rail that your sights sit on top of. It changes to picatinny mounting which is more versatile than dovetail. Horton used plastic that commonly fails, this is aluminum upgrade. Fairly difficult to change so I'd suggest watching YouTube videos on Horton "dial a range" replacement . This should also give some insight into how it works and if it will solve your issue. Perfect fix for mine. |

- Archery Crossbow Arrow Broadheads
User questions & answers
Question: | The nap site says model 60-698 is for corssbows but the one here says it is model 60-665. are we certain this is for crossbows |
Answer: | Yes, I killed a bull elk with crossbow with this , last year. Same as I used on my carbon express arrows with compound. |
Question: | Can I use the spitfire maxx on my tenpoint crossbow |
Answer: | To my knowledge, virtually nothing different. I've heard that with a crossbow, you want a heavier broadhead to help straighten out the flight of the arrow; the shorter length of the arrow makes it less aerodynamically stable compared to a longer compound bow arrow. |
Question: | Is this for crossbows and is the length 2" cut |
Answer: | As long as the lock is used correctly, the lock will be well secured and will be safe. Our poles have instructions on how to use the lock properly, so as long as you read and follow the instructions carefully, you don't have to worry. |
Question: | Can you shoot these into hard targets to get your bow sighted in with the same exact pattern you'll be hunting with |
Answer: | About 9 ounces per hiking pole without accessories. If you attach the baskets or rubber tips, it'll be 9.5ounces per pole, it is ultralight. |

Question: | I have a carbon express cx1 xbow w/185 lb draw wgt/330 fps (according to specs).will these bh's work?only shooting 30yds max w/20" ce piledriver bolts |
Answer: | Yes. These are Xbow broadheads. 170 grain . I use them on my Mission 400. Comes with 3 practice heads to sight in. I only use these. Started using them on my bow also. Massive damage and leaves blood trail, even a blind guy can follow. These are the best, IMHO. If you want to see pics, message me. |
Question: | Will these work on a Excailbur raid Micro335 xbow shooting 16.5 bolts |
Answer: | They work very well on my 18 and 20 inch bolts. They should work on 16.5 bolts. |
Question: | A lot of the reviews came from people with really fast Xbows. Would this work in a Barnett Jackal 315 fps |
Answer: | It should work fine. Just make sure you check drop since it is 170 grains. I shoot them out of my Matthews bow also. 2 inch drop at 20 yds vs a 100 grain broadhead. |
Question: | Would these work with an Excalibur axiom |
Answer: | I'm not familiar with the axiom but I shoot them out of an Excalibur micro 355. Over 20 deer and no failures. Only large cut head Ive found that won't break blades out of a crossbow. |

User questions & answers
Question: | will these work with a compound bow |
Answer: | Yes this is for crossbows and I think it is 2". I have a Ten Point stealth crossbow that shoots at 343 feet per second. Earlier this week, I took my third deer with this crossbow and broadhead in 3 years. On Wednesday morning while out at my farm, I took a nice 8 point buck (2 1/2 year old) and I knocked this buck off his hoofs with this setup. I use the 100 grain broadhead and it was like I shot him with my 160 grain 30-06. Awesome. I never reuse the broadhead once shot and replace it whether or not it looks serviceable. |
Question: | Even though they are labeled for crossbows, do they work on compound arrows as well or just specifically designed for crossbow bolts |
Answer: | I use these every season and they fly the same as a practice point so no need to shoot into target. But if you must use a target for broadband not a practice point target. Again no need to though. Excellent choice ! |
