Answer:	Hi Galen, It's easy! Providing your at an angle of about 45 degrees. Just drop the pick up end on the ball. The pin is what hold the ball in place. Be sure to twist the shaft according to the directions on the shaft to lock it in place, otherwise it"s tough to get the pick up over the ball. Good Luck.

Most of the time you will only need to extend a maximum of 10 feet as any further water will be too deep to see your ball,at least that is what I have found. Although there have been times where I have needed to extend further because of the creeks having steep banks.
