| Answer: | I'm capable but not overly handy and it took me about an hour, maybe a little more. The heaviest part is the base. I just tore open the end of the box and then slid it out. To lift it would have taken two strong people. None of the other parts seemed heavy to me and I did put it together by myself. There were a couple of spots where having a second pair of hands would have helped. This was a matter of the benefit of having one person hold the piece in place while the other person did the screws rather than an issue with weight. The directions are VERY clear and all the screws and washers were shrink wrapped onto a cardboard that clearly identified them, which made the process much easier and faster too. The time involved has more to do with the number of screws and washers rather than needing to do anything complicated or confusing. My impression is that Schwinn put thought into making the assembly doable. |

| Answer: | The adjustments are automatic from the rider's point of view. Internally, in the front of the cycle, hidden beneath the plastic casing, is a large metal flywheel attached to the pedals. Surrounding the flywheel is a metal arc that holds a series of magnets. The closer this arc comes to the flywheel, the more magnetic "pull" you have to work against - and therefore, the harder you have to pedal. Internally, in a part of the cycle you never see unless it breaks (like ours did after 4 years of hard, every day use), is a steel cable that pulls the magnets away from the flywheel making it easier to pedal, or lets the magnets drop closer, making it harder. But again - from your point of view, the system is automatic. You can set a fixed resistance, or you can select a terrain with varying up and down "hills" of resistance. Even though little magnetic gnomes are busy inside the cycle doing physics, you don't have to think about them. Hope this helps. |

| Answer: | The seat on the 270 model is very easy to adjust. Push down on the red lever and slide the seat to where you want it, then pull up on the lever to lock the seat in place. Since multiple people in my family use the bike, we marked the bar that the seat slides on with an indelible marker for each person so we just slide it to that mark. |

| Answer: | I had a roast in this for several hours and stuck a thermometer into the roast and it read 180 degrees. There was no burning whatsoever and the roast came out amazing. It does take a very long time, though, at least 8 hours. I tried to take the roast out earlier and it was too tough, but putting it back in for the 8 hours made it much more tender. |

| Answer: | I have been dealing in office equipment for over 30 years. Twelve-Forty Distribution is incorrect regarding warranty. Aftermarket toner does not void a warranty. It is government protected just like using different brands of oil in your car. However, I never recommend aftermarket toners in Kyocera. They do not work. The manufacturer will not cover any repairs related to aftermarket toner that does not work properly. I am not trying to dis 12/40. He is just not correct about the warranty. This would not stop me from buying from him. |

For me, that is not an issue as I don't always like to know how much more time is left in my workout! Besides, at the end of your workout, you will get a "progress report" of how total time, distance, average HR and average RPM's during your exercise session. |
