Question: Any suggestions for selecting the right size/weight ball? Is there a correlation to body size, amount lifted, etc
Answer: Yes it should be enough for two shoulder length womens hair, or 4 boys
Question: About the shipping information, does the ball come inflated or deflated
Answer: When I did my daughter's head I did the treatment each day for a week, then the 2nd week I did one treatment. But I followed up with each day with the lemon grass spray. I highly recommend this product
Question: How solid is this ball? I plan to use it to roll out my glutes (i.e. I don't want it to compress when I put weight on it
Answer: You could call the company and ask what's in it. This stuff is tame compared to Rid-X; all i said in my review was that it works. But here's the list from the bottle, since you're so sure it's "illegal" (I guess you're also commenting on my parenting!LOL!) Active ingredients: Staphysagria (15x), Ledum Palustre (15x) - Homeopathic.
Question: How much weight can this hold? I plan to stand on it for balancing exercises. Will this work for that purpose
Answer: On average you would need. 6oz for shoulder length thick hair, I would recommend our larger set https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01574VX90/ref=mp_s_a_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1472588789&sr=8-4&keywords=Head+Hunters+Naturalsso you can have enough.

User questions & answers

Question: what is the diameter of the ball
Answer: The Day 1 Fitness Slam Ball is offered in 9 different weights. There are no different colors (just black). Please choose the weight that is right for your workouts. Thanks!
Question: Is this med ball very bouncy
Answer: There is no specific answer for that. Weight of the ball is based on the exercise you are performing, type of workout (high reps vs low reps, HIIT vs strength training, etc) and your own personal strength. Normally you want a variety of sizes. Odds are you would be fine with a 15lbs and a 20lbs for most exercises/workouts.
Question: What is the diameter of the 4 lb ball. I am looking for 8.5" or so for volleyball setter
Answer: Hello, There are a variety of exercises for this modality. As someone has already mentioned, this could act as a close grip chest press. We do recommend talking with sports medicine professional to ensure proper technique and progression. Please reach out to our customer support via [email protected] if you have any further questions. Kind regards, D1F
Question: looking for a medicine ball that lays flat on floor for balance testing
Answer: Yes, this is actually part of the exercise and versatility a slam ball offers. The fact that it’s a relatively unstable object forces you to adjust on the fly, activating different muscle groups and increasing the intensity and variation of the exercise.

User questions & answers

Question: different weights not colors
Answer: No problems with my medicine tree as of today. It looks like new. My medicine balls fit nicely and I have them in one area. I have the two pound at the top and woks it way up to the largest at the bottom with the 0 pound at the bottom.
Question: What is the recommended size ball for a 155lb man
Answer: Sorry, super_di - As the description says - this listing is only for the "tree" itself! It does not come with any medicine balls!
Question: Could I use these for a bench press in lieu of a barbell? I haven't seen any videos of it is there a reason not to
Answer: Unfortunately, no. And even if they did, i wouldn’t suggest this stand to be strong enough to hold anything heavier than 20lbs. My wall balls sit on the floor in the meantime, but it does suit very well for MB’s up to 20lb per slot
Question: Does the sand "slush" around in the ball
Answer: Mine did BUT you will see how the tree is larger spaced at the bottom and becomes smaller towards the top. So you need small to large balls. If you only had small balls like 5lb. then no this is not for you. IF you have an assortment of sizes/weights then YES!

Product features

Let’s get started!

Slam balls are effective for athletic training to improve muscle mass, cardiovascular endurance and hand-eye coordination. Slam balls are also a good complement to exercises like squats and deadlifts since they add resistance and strength to the existing exercise.

Start by using a lighter weight ball and work your way up as you become stronger and more comfortable with the techniques of using a slam ball. Posture is key in slam ball usage as you want to be sure that you are not leaning too far forward and placing stress on your back. The slam ball is designed to have the weight move around on the inside of the ball, as this instability helps aid in strengthening your core muscle group.

To enhance the longevity of your slam ball, try to slam away from the valve area. The valve is the most sensitive area of the slam ball and repeated hard slams can decrease the longevity of your ball. Store your slam ball in a cool, dry area and keep it out of extreme hot or cold.

Your Fitness Journey

At Day 1 Fitness, we believe that change is good, but lasting transformation is great. That’s why we believe in providing premium equipment ideal for your uniquely healthy goals. From small changes to complete lifestyle makeovers, we’ll take it one step at a time, one day at a time — together.

Medicine Ball Slam

  • Stand with your feet slightly wider than shoulder width apart, knees slightly bent.
  • Holding a slam ball in both hands, raise the ball above your head by fully extending your body.
  • Throw the ball forcefully down to the ground, engaging your abs on the downward motion of the throw.
  • Simultaneously lowering your body to a squat position to grab the ball.
  • Stand back up and repeat.

Med Ball Sit Up

  • Lying on a mat, with legs at table top position, or knees bent with feet planted on the mat.
  • Hold a slam ball in both hands. Keeping legs steady, slam ball at chest height a few inches away from your body, raise your chest and ball up towards the ceiling.
  • Exhale and slowly roll your shoulders off the floor, head neutral, try to raise your chest up and out by using your core muscles.
  • Continue to keep your legs at table top, lower back to start position and repeat.
  • Repeat on opposite side.

User questions & answers

Question: Can you still use it as a slam ball
Answer: No they land solidly like a good slam ball should!
Question: I want to use this ball to firm my upper arms going side to side with it and is it good for this? Is it easy to grip? Thank you
Answer: They have beads inside so that when they shift we must activate stabilizer muscles to react to the shift.
Question: Is the included DVD an instructiuonal one or a workout one you can follow along with
Answer: This style of medicine ball is not made to withstand the force of vertical slamming over time. The stitching will bust open and the tiny beads will spill out everywhere. Not right away but in a year. Slam balls have a tough rubber exterior to withstand the force and are filled with sand so they hit the ground with a thud and stay down forcing you into a full squat to pick it up and recreate the momentum to bring it up overhead to slam again. It is much more difficult than slamming a medicine ball because the pop back up and all you have to do is catch it mid air. It is not the intended use for this type of weighted ball but thanks to unqualified social influencers all sorts of fitness equipment is improperly used.
Question: I am not sure which weight to order. I am trying to decide between 6 or 8 pounds. I am of average strength. I am looking for overall conditioning
Answer: I know you asked about the 8 lb. ball, but I have the 10 lb. ball and it's 9 inches in diameter.

Product description

It is said that Hippocrates treated patients over 2000 years ago using a heavy animalskin ball filled with sand. In two millennia, much has changed, but the efficacy of benefit of medicine balls has not. An explosive and kinetic alternative to traditional weights, you can perform hundreds of exercises that work every area of your body and improve flexibility, coordination, and movement. Add a medicine ball to supercharge basic calisthenics, or try rebounding for an active, exciting way to work your arms and core.

We've gone ahead and ditched the animalskin and sand in favor of tuff, grippy rubber inflated with air. Not only does air offer completely customizable firmness, but it works in tandem with the durable rubber to produce significant bounce when rebounding--much more than sand or gel-filled balls. In addition, the rubber exterior is covered with hundreds of dimples, like a basketball, so you can maintain a secure grip, even in the middle of an intense workout

When choosing your weight, pick a ball that is heavy enough to slow your motion, but not so heavy that control, range of motion and form suffer.

User questions & answers

Question: Could this be used for slams
Answer: I think the handles on the ball don’t make it good for slamming like a traditional medicine ball. The handles allow you to have more versatile movements like a Russian twist or kettlebell like swing. A slam ball can be pushed up in the air against a wall or slammed. Not much versatility hence the name slam ball versus dual grip ball. Hope this helps.
Question: What does the warranty cover
Answer: Yes, you can do side to side upper arm workout. If you have small hand you can slide your hands thru the holes. The bigger the weight, the bigger the hole in the handles. I have 8 lb. ball and I can grip the handles very easy. I hope this will help you.
Question: How well does it hold its shape? Curious if it will dent and turn into a oval
Answer: Is a workout DVD
Question: how is it weighted? Is it filled with a sand type material, something that moves around inside? Or is it an evenly distributed weight
Answer: It depends on what kinds of exercises you want to do and how hard or how long you want to work. The 10 lb is perfect for me (I also have 20 lb and 25 lb kettlebells and I am not that strong, but I go for more strength combo conditioning, shorter sessions vs just aerobic). If you want it for just aerobic conditioning, the 6lb is probably fine. If you want it to also strength train, I like my 10 lb. I can go hard and then do jogging in place or non-weighted cardio for recovery and then back to using my 10 lb ball or kettlebells. This was expensive, so I went with the 10 lb. I also have 2, 3 & 4 lb weights I hold in my hands if I just want to do aerobics. My kettlebell teacher said don't start with anything less than a 15 or 20 lb kettlebell weight for a women - she said you're stronger than you think. Many fitness teachers advocate hard then recovery, hard, then recovery instead of a whole session of moderate. But you need to decide what you mostly want to use it for and what will be best for you. I have a non-handle 8 lb ball and it is hard to hold on to (my wrists get sore), I only use it for minimal things. I really like the handled balls.

User questions & answers

Question: does this need to be inflated
Answer: I am not aware of the manufacturer origin, but purchased it from a US company
Question: Can you please list the diameters of the different weight balls
Answer: Mine bounces ever so slightly, so if it’s coming off a trampoline, Yes. Pretty sure anything will bounce off a trampoline. I mean, a bowling ball will too.
Question: I'm looking for a weighted ball toy for my rottweiler. Is the material for this suitable for a dog to bite and grip
Answer: It isn’t one you feel with air. It is a free material that allows traction while you are working out. It is squishy, it is dynamic in that as you move it the weight (possibly sand) inside shifts and makes for a great work out.
Question: Is the weight of this dual grip medicine ball adjustable? How low or high can the weight go
Answer: Lots of ways to use it. My favorite exercise is hold the ball overhead, legs shoulder width apart , now drive or slam the ball as hard as possible against the floor. Drop down with ball on chest almost like a push up , spring back up to squat position with ball in hand, now stand up , raise ball overhead and repeat exercise. I call the exercise Slam Ball Sprawls . Do as many reps and sets as your physical ability will allow. 4x10 with 1 minute break between each set is a great start.
