The problem, I was under the impression this portable sensor would notify me of weak batteries by turning amber. No amber. That means you need to be darn sure to replace the batteries before going on vacation at times of the year you must have heat and or cool.

But it's not dependent on anything happening around the sensor. Frankly, I don't like systems that smart that I can't figure out what they're doing. This one is straightforward because now I know the upstairs temperature is being regulated at this sensor beside my bed, so it's 74 where I want it to be (in bed). I use setbacks like everyone else so when I'm not likely to be there, it's got a higher (or lower depending on season) setback.
