Answer:	Yes. It will fit a little awkward for a day or so but then it goes back to normal feeling. I wash mine with no lasting issues.

Answer:	Only if the pain is caused by some part of the shoe you are wearing. I had a bone spur on the bottom of mine, and it helped, just because it was cushioned well, along the bottom. The side Projections (at east, in my mind are there for holding the cushions in place, and would not provide much, if any, cushioning effect for the sides of the foot. g.
