8 best life rafts
Life rafts are essential safety flotation devices commonly used in boating and sailing to provide a means of escape and survival in emergencies. Here is what you need to know about life rafts in the context of boating and outdoor sports:
Emergency Flotation: Life rafts are inflatable structures designed to float on water and keep individuals afloat in case of a maritime emergency. They are an integral part of maritime safety equipment, especially on larger vessels like ships and boats.
Types of Life Rafts: There are different types of life rafts, including offshore life rafts and coastal life rafts. Offshore life rafts are designed for use in deep waters and are equipped with more survival features, while coastal life rafts are intended for use closer to shore.
Inflation: Life rafts are typically stored in a compact and sealed container. In an emergency, they can be manually inflated or, in some cases, automatically inflated when submerged in water. Some rafts also have a canopy that helps protect occupants from the elements.
Capacity: Life rafts come in various sizes and can accommodate different numbers of people. Common sizes include 4-person, 6-person, and 8-person rafts. The capacity is typically indicated on the raft's container.
Safety Equipment: Life rafts are equipped with various safety features and equipment, such as grab lines, boarding ladders, buoyant paddles, and emergency food and water supplies. These provisions are crucial for survival while awaiting rescue.
Regulations: Maritime regulations often require boats and ships to carry life rafts suitable for the vessel's size and intended use. The specific regulations may vary by country and the type of waterbody in which the vessel operates.
Maintenance: Regular maintenance and inspection of life rafts are essential to ensure their reliability during emergencies. This includes checking for leaks, inspecting the inflation system, and replacing any expired supplies.
Training: It's crucial for crew members and passengers on boats to receive proper training on how to deploy and use life rafts effectively. This training can be part of boating safety courses and drills.
Emergency Situations: Life rafts are typically used when a vessel is sinking, on fire, or in other situations where it is unsafe or impossible to remain on board. They provide a stable platform for occupants to wait for rescue by other vessels or search and rescue teams.
Storage and Accessibility: Life rafts should be stored in a location on the boat where they can be easily accessed in an emergency. They should also be securely fastened to prevent accidental deployment.
In summary, life rafts are crucial safety flotation devices used in boating and sailing to ensure the survival of individuals in emergency situations. They come in various sizes, are equipped with essential safety features, and are subject to regulations to enhance maritime safety. Proper maintenance and training are essential to their effectiveness.

If you don't konw the size of your 15.6" laptop, you can click this link : (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0881NVKJL?ref=myi_title_dp ) or search the ASIN: B0881NVKJL in our store, this inflatable protective bag will exactly fit your 15.6" laptop, thank you ! |
Question: | What dimensions does the canopy need to be if I am purchasing one for this boat. Like what are the specifications a Bimini must have to fit this boat |
Answer: | Hello, Thank you very much for your question. There are 2 kinds of box I'm using now for the laptop with the air bag mailer , ① Box external size: 17.7" x 10.9" x 2.8", which is for the 14~15"laptop with mailer ; ② Box external size: 15.7" x 10.6" x 3.9", which is for the 12~13"(or for some kind of 14")laptop with mailer. So I think the box of the ①size is enough for your laptop with mailer , hope my answer will help ,thank you ! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can we have our boat name put on it |
Answer: | On mine it would be about an inch and a half.it really depends on the cane you get but diameter seems to be fairly even along the length of the cane.that said the wood it self is really sturdy it is root wood.and those little roots anchor a large tree to the ground.i personally think the only way to get a stronger cane would be to get a real blackthorn cane or steel. |
Question: | Is this uscg approved? i don't see that specified in the description |
Answer: | yes, this cane is great for self-defense. the crook is wide enough to wrap around men's necks. it is well balanced, and easy to grip. it is also strong, but not too heavy . great wood, and a natural finish. i want another one. |
Question: | What is the inside diameter of the 24" ring |
Answer: | Hi there, it's 9.7 ounces per pole without accessories. If you attach the baskets and rubber tips, it'll be 10.2 ounces per pole. Hope that helps! |
Question: | What size lettering have people used to customize this |
Answer: | Yes, in fact it would be good to have these if you're going through rivers - they'll save you from accidental slips especially if the rocks are a bit slippery, and you can also use them to gauge and test the ground (or riverbed) that you're about to step on. We'd recommend giving the poles a thorough drying afterwards though by taking them apart and patting dry or air drying. As with all things metal, rust is an enemy and drying the poles will help prevent that. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do you have to blow up with a bag or can you use a pump |
Answer: | It's very stable, I've taking it up rivers and on the lake. I have not taken it white water rafting, I would rather have a duckie kayak. I've enjoyed it and it's cheap entertainment. I must say the trade off is that it does not track as well as a plastic kayak, but you can't put a plastic kayak in the back seat or front seat of your car. |
Question: | What’s been updated in the 2020 model |
Answer: | Yes, and I also wear a life vest so that gives suppoet as well. |
Question: | Need boat to pack into mnt lakes. From reviews boat is unstable, gets you wet(low riding). Is this a death trap |
Answer: | That is correct. The lining comes with two plugs in the bottom for easier draining once out of the water, and the inner tube has a couple of small drain holes for anything that comes in over the side, but they aren't that effective. It's never been a problem for us though. Just need a good chamois or cloth to wipe it out with at the end of the day. |
Question: | looks a little small for rivers |
Answer: | No, it is not self-bailing |

Question: | Does this boat come with oars |

Question: | Is it safe for river tubing |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this float once full of gear |
Answer: | I believe it's 4" to the rear. You can offset or add to that depending on how you install the receiver cup on the kingpin (infront or behind the kingpin). In other words you could end up with close to zero offset or 8" of offset to the rear. |
Question: | Is there any waterproof charastic to this bag? Concerned about flares getting wet |
Answer: | I am not sure. You should call Andersen Hitches to make sure. When I bought mine , I called them several times to make sure I was getting the right one. |
Question: | Does it have an ectronic beacon |
Answer: | This is for a manuel latch....Thanks |
Question: | Hi, i am trying to decide between this item acr 2278 and a simmilar acr 2272. they are about the same any reason to chose one over the other |
Answer: | I am taking my chances. It most likely does cancel the warranty because they will use any excuse to not pay a claim. That said, this hitch has some shock absorption built into it which made me more comfortable using it and buying it. I love it. No chucking or binding like my former 5th wheel PullRite slider hitch and I get my empty truck bed back when not towing. It's really great, except for voiding the frame warranty which you should contact your trailer manufacturer about to confirm if that is indeed the case. Thanks! |
