12 best o neill infant life vests
O'Neill is a well-known brand that manufactures infant life vests, also commonly referred to as infant life jackets or personal flotation devices (PFDs). These life vests are designed to provide buoyancy and support to infants, ensuring their safety while on or near water.
O'Neill infant life vests are typically made with high-quality materials that offer both comfort and safety for young children. They are specifically designed to fit the smaller bodies of infants and toddlers, providing a secure and snug fit to prevent the vest from slipping off during water activities.
These life vests often feature adjustable straps and buckles, allowing for a customized fit to accommodate the child's growth and changing body size. The vests may include a grab handle, making it easier for adults to lift and assist the child in and out of the water.
The construction of O'Neill infant life vests typically meets safety standards and regulations to ensure they provide the necessary buoyancy and support for infants to stay afloat in the water. The bright colors and reflective accents on the vests improve visibility, enhancing safety measures, especially in crowded or low-light boating or water activity situations.
In summary, O'Neill infant life vests are designed to prioritize safety and comfort for young children during water-related activities. They are crafted to fit infants securely and meet safety standards to provide the buoyancy and support needed to keep them safe in and around the water.

Product description
Days on the lake are a family affair and O’Neill has the little hellians covered. The same attention to fit and quality that we put into our adult vest line goes into this comprehensive youth series. Youth, Child, and Infant vests are available in neoprene and nylon versions. The most trusted name in the water delivers again.
Sometime around 1952, Jack O'Neill opened the first surf shop in a garage across the Great Highway. He shaped a few balsa surfboards and sold accessories like paraffin wax and few vests (glued together from neoprene). When the vests started selling, Jack decided to go into the wetsuit business. His friends laughed. They asked him what he planned to do for business after the handful of surfers in the area had bought one. Jack said he'd cross that bridge when he got to it.
- US Coast Guard Approved Type II PFD for babies up to 30 lbs body weight
- Comfortable nylon shell over closed cell PVC marine foam shaped to float baby face-up
- Adjustable safety belts with durable Delrin quick-release buckles and handy grab loop on the head cushion
- Soft and comfortable. Adjustable safety belt between the legs keeps vest secure.
- Durable exterior, nylon panels with PVC backing. Improved ease of entry and Ultraviolet protection.
User questions & answers
Question: | Is this good toddlers in case they fall into the pool accidentally and also for them to play in the pool in (supervised)? Will it turn them face-up |
Answer: | That’s what it’s supposed to do- so that’s why we bought it- (BUT we never tested it, we just read a lot of reviews that this was one of the best ones for little ones) we got it for our daughter when we were going on a trip in a boat for a week (she’s almost 3 and it’s too small for her now we got her a bigger one but we’re keeping this for our son). |
Question: | Is the pink vest for 30-50 lbs |
Answer: | I am not 100% sure on the weight limit of the vest. I know that a 12-16 month child will fit in it. As we have used it for such last summer. |
Question: | what are the weight limits |
Answer: | I believe it says up to 30 lbs.? It should be in the description. My children wore a similar jacket from infancy until about 2 or 3 years... |
Question: | The product i received has four tiny holes on the inside lining. These are evenly placed near the hem. Is this normal or do i return the product |
Answer: | Mine has as well about an inch up... I figure it is to help inside breath and not get full of bacteria. |

Question: | would it fit for my 10 months old daughter ?she's 16 pounds |
Answer: | My son is 19lbs and it fits him like a glove. The problem is its so fitted he hates it. |
Question: | Is this vest us coast guard approved |
Answer: | I would think so it is a great vest. We use it for our toddler boating in the ocean and have been stopped for a safety check by coast guard and have had no issues. |
Question: | There are 2 sizes listed for the life vest Under 30 and One size. What is the weight limit on One Size |
Answer: | Weight limit is still 0 to 30 pounds. Ran into the same question myself. They have 2 options to chose from. I was told they are the same. Just in case I still ordered the infant 0 to 30. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this fit my 26lb daughter? I hate to buy a smaller one that she won't be able to wear very long |
Answer: | I would think so as long as the 10 year old is an average size kid. My son is 8 and average wt./ht. ( 62lbs./ 52") and it fits nicely with plenty of room for him to grow. His 9 year old friend borrowed it for a short boat ride, bigger kid probably pushing the 90 lb. wt. limit and it was very snug and looked uncomfortable. |
Question: | What is the weight range for this vest |
Answer: | Yes my daughter (10yrs old) is wearing them and she is wearing a 9 |
Question: | Does this say uscg approved |
Answer: | Authentic? As in legit sneakers? They aren’t Kobe’s Nike brand. These are much cheaper and the quality is not as good. |
Question: | What type of PDF (personal flotation device) is it, U.S. Coast Guard type I, II, ot III |
Answer: | No... They fit perfectly. Sizes are true. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this work on both a 3yr and a 5yr old kid? Trying to better understand the 1sz fits all range. Thanks |
Answer: | It depends on what they weigh. It's for 30-50 lb kids. If your 5 yr old is almost 50 lbs, you'd probably want to get the next size up, otherwise their chin may be under water. Also, this vest has a narrow fit, so if your kids are chunky, they might find it too tight. Check the provided chest measurements. |
Question: | I just purchased another life jacket for my son who is 38lbs and I could not zip it up and ended up returning it. What is the chest measurement |
Answer: | The chest measurement for that size jacket is 25-29 inches. Keep in mind that jacket will be tighter when dry and then expand when it gets wet. Hope that helps! |
Question: | Is this a bit longer than basic jackets? Im having trouble finding something that fits my tall skinny 6 year old |
Answer: | No. I remember it running on the smaller side. My son out grew it fairly quickly. I believe these jackets are designed for water skiing and aim to be minimal weight/ resistance/drag |
Question: | Is this a type I, II, or III approved floation device? Is there a strap to grap the child on the back? A review says yes, but none is pictured |
Answer: | It is type lll, and yes it has a strap. If you look at the pictures on the yellow and pink you can see it. |

- USCG Approved Type II

User questions & answers
Question: | Does the 50-90lbs have crotch strap |
Answer: | Yes! It sure is! Wouldn't have purchased it if it wasn't Coast Guard approved. In fact, if your life vests are not approved by the Coast Guard, they can ticket you! I'd rather be safe than sorry with a great life vest for an infant. |
Question: | How do I know what size I'm ordering |
Answer: | I think it is a mistake. The small infants vest fits those under 30 lbs. If it's a large it should fit those over 30 lbs. |
Question: | Will this flip child onto their back |
Answer: | Yes, the shape and design on this one is the same, the material used is just a little softer. |
Question: | This labeled as childrens, which gits 30-50 lbs but description has it as youth, 50-90 lbs. Is it child or youth |
Answer: | Yes there are arm holes . The back is a thick spandex like material that goes between the legs and up the back . We love this and it seems that our 9 month old does too |

User questions & answers
Question: | Wondering about the color? The first few photos show lighter aqua type color and the last pic shows darker jewel tones. Which is accurate |
Answer: | My daughter said that they are comfortable. The padding inside is just like any other K-Swiss shoe. It's not memory foam but it appears to be comfortable. My daughter is 4 yrs old and these are her school uniform shoes. Very easy to get on and off since she has not mastered tying her shoes yet. |
Question: | Does it have the leg strap that goes between their legs |
Answer: | i can only say an 8 was too small and a 9 was too big, so I found the Kswiss 8.5 and they fit just right. My daughter likes them. They are actually a pretty nice looking shoe. She plays well in them. |
Question: | what is the weight limit |
Answer: | Yes they are. This is our second pair and my 4 y/o just loves them and keeps putting them through the ringer. They've held up nice each time. Hope that helps. Cheers |
Question: | Can this jacket fit a 10 year old |
Answer: | This is the standard size,𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐆𝐋𝐄 𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐇【𝒃𝒖𝒚𝒔𝒆𝒙𝒊𝒏𝒈】 |

Question: | Does the Patriot (4726IA) have a behind the neck safety loop |
Answer: | I think little kids 3 is the size after your son's size 2. An infant 3 is for babies. My 9 month old is a infant 3. The progression of sizes go from infant 1, 2, 3... To toddlers 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9... To little kid 10, 11, 12, 13, 1, 2, 3, 4... |

- Neoprene vests are meant to fit fairly snugly when dry. It's important that they do fit snug. When neoprene gets wet it expands so the in order for the vest to fit properly it needs to be snug.

Question: | Would this fit my 9 month old 24 lb baby |

Question: | Will this fit a newborn weighting 10 pounds |
Answer: | Yes they are |
Question: | Would this be good for a one year old, about 20 lbs |
Answer: | This was my husband's first time buying this brand. We had no idea. But he has bought all different kinds of compression socks and he was very pleased with the softness and compression. They are also holding up well and he wears compression socks every day. The pair he bought before this is the copper socks (1 pair $10) and they were good but they are more nylon. All I can tell you is he said he is sticking to this brand from now on .....and the price is right. |
