Answer:	I wondered the same thing when I was buying mine, so I checked on the manufacturer's website (www.stearnsflotation.com) and the main/only difference is I find was the fabric used on the outside. The lower priced line (called "Cancun Series" uses nylon, the mid priced flotation uses woven polyester (both the "Maui" and "Bahamas" series) and their most expensive line ("Tahiti" Series) uses hydroprene. Amazon doesn't seem to use the series names but just check what fabric is listed in the item description and you will know if you are looking at the lower, mid or upper end fabric option.Hope that helps!I purchased the turtle print, which Amazon refers to in their listing as a "Deluxe" item, and the fabric is woven polyester-- meaning it is from their mid line. We have loved it and have no complaints as to chafing on my little guys skin.

Answer:	I think so, once the child gets comfortable wearing it, they start learning to kick and stay afloat pretty well. My toddler wouldn't let go of anyone initially, then an older child was teasing him, which in turn taught him to kick like crazy and now he can swim all around our pool. Answer:	No, the sides are closed with the same pink/purple material as the whole vest. The straps go over those sides to go all the way around. Hope this helps!

Answer:	The poundage is not the problem it’s how small they are. My granddaughter is 18 months and 22 pounds but very short. The arms bands came over her elbows and she could move Also because of her short neck the front just didn’t keep her head out of the water. I actually detached the arm bands made them smaller and reattached with. Velcro. It works great now. As long as the body with tighten up enough I would try it with very close supervision. My other granddaughter was 26 lbs when she tried hers for the first time but she was 2 inches taller.

Answer:	No, and the one I received has super small arm holes. It's a struggle to get the arms of my small 3 yr through them.
