Answer:	Correct most led lights are that way. I have had mine on for years and still work just fine. I would rather replace the whole thing since in saltwater the connections to the bulbs always rust out anyway.

Answer:	My boat had Perko lights, not sure if they were A-16 but they did measure a 2.4" base and this fit right through the same holes and fiberglass molded stub that they sit on.

Answer:	Yes, USCG approved, but would not be approved if mounted facing forward, because a craft approaching from either side could view both red and green. They would have to be mounted on the sides so only one color would be seen from any other boater.

Answer:	I would disassemble one of the units and review where this must fit on your boat for the best method. I had to replace old lights that had failed due to years of heat/cold cycling. I found the best was to drill 2 holes for screws that would go into the previous light's screw holes. This required me to remove the 2- 1/4" spacers on the bottom (one is at the end of the long machine screw and the other is a half circle molded plastic where the wires come out. When you do this, you can also change the wires to ones that are longer and more appropriate for your situation. Once the mounting screws are in, replace the colored (red or green) and then the outer black plastic cover and reinsert machine screw (8-32 and 1 1/4" long...the 1 1/2" long screw was too long)....

Answer:	Dont know. But this product is cheap and won't stay up. I had to glue it to stay in the upright position. . Very bright though

Answer:	I don't think you can find a replacement led to lower the brightness. You will need to see about lightly sanding the inside of the lens to make it "frosted" in appearance. of finding a film you can put on the inside to dim it...
