13 best jon boat trailers
Jon boat trailers are specially designed trailers used for transporting Jon boats, which are flat-bottomed boats often used for fishing in shallow waters. These trailers are essential for safely and efficiently moving your Jon boat to and from the water. Here's what you need to know about Jon boat trailers:
Purpose: Jon boat trailers are designed to securely transport and launch Jon boats. They provide support and stability to ensure safe towing and launching.
Compatibility: Jon boat trailers are typically designed to accommodate various sizes and types of Jon boats. They come in different sizes and weight capacities to match the specific dimensions and weight of your boat.
Construction: These trailers are typically made from durable materials like galvanized steel or aluminum to withstand exposure to water and resist corrosion. This ensures their longevity and durability, even in marine environments.
Rollers and Bunks: Jon boat trailers may feature a combination of rollers and bunks to support the boat. Rollers allow for easier launching and loading, while bunks provide continuous support along the hull of the boat. The combination of rollers and bunks can vary depending on the trailer design.
Adjustability: Many Jon boat trailers are adjustable to accommodate different boat lengths and shapes. This adjustability allows you to customize the trailer to fit your specific Jon boat snugly.
Towing Hitch: Jon boat trailers come with a towing hitch that can be attached to a vehicle for towing. Ensure that your trailer's hitch is compatible with your towing vehicle's hitch receiver.
Lights and Wiring: Trailer lighting and wiring are essential for safety during transportation. Jon boat trailers should have functioning lights and wiring to meet legal requirements and make your trailer visible on the road.
Tire and Axle Configuration: The number and type of tires, as well as the axle configuration, depend on the size and weight capacity of the trailer.Larger trailers may have multiple axles and more tires for better weight distribution.
Maintenance: Regular maintenance is crucial to ensure your Jon boat trailer remains in good condition. This includes inspecting and greasing the wheel bearings, checking tire pressure, and ensuring the trailer's lights are working correctly.
Legal Requirements: Be aware of local and state regulations regarding the use of boat trailers. This includes requirements for trailer registration, licensing, and safety equipment.
When selecting a Jon boat trailer, consider the size and weight of your boat, the type of terrain you'll be towing it on, and your specific boating needs. A well-matched trailer will ensure that you can transport your Jon boat safely and conveniently to your favorite fishing or boating spots.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you haul 2 kayaks on this trailer |
Answer: | On this Ironton Personal Watercraft and Boat Trailer Kit the angle of the bunk boards are adjustable. There are 2 bolts to fix each bunk to the bunk support. You can loosen the bolt and put the bunks flat or the desired angle, then fasten the bolt. |
Question: | I have a 17 foot aluminum boat will it work |
Answer: | I have converted the trailer to carry my 17 foot canoe by replacing the tongue with a longer one. The canoe hangs over the rear 3 feet which works with a canoe, but perhaps not with a boat. Also, the canoe only weighs 75 pounds. |
Question: | I have a double sit kayak 13.5 ft. Does it fit |
Answer: | It will fit, but it will definitely hang out over the back by 3 or 4 feet. I suppose that is no big deal, but you should be aware of that. I used mine for a 16 ft canoe, but it hung off the back by about 6 ft, even after moving the front stop bar as far forward as possible. So I bought a 10 ft piece of steel tube and used it instead of the 5 or 6 ft tongue that comes with it. That allowed me to adjust it so my 16 ft canoe did not hang 6 foot over the back. Also, notice the two carpet covered boards? They are flat and straight, so they don't fit the curvature of the hull very well . . . just contacting at arc point of the hull . . . again, no big deal, but when it sits in the hot sun all day, the weight of the canoe pushes the floor of the hull up to conform to the flat boards. I may make some modifications for that. Also note there is no front roller for the bow to rest on. I had to buy a roller and make a bracket to support the front of the canoe. I also put a rubber V stopper on the front vertical stop bar. Finally, I added two brackets to the back to hold a strap . . . painted the whole thing black with silver wheels and put two BMW logo's on the wheel bearings just for fun. Otherwise, very happy with the trailer. Good Luck! |
Question: | Would this work for a 12 ft Jon boat, 130 lbs ? Thx |
Answer: | We have a 10.2' and I belive it should work for a 12' no problem. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this only work for flat bottom boats or will it work with a v-hull as well |
Answer: | The material is a soft permanent press cotton material. This material hold the color and pant crease fairly well. My husband wears his Haggar pants with dress shirts and nice shoes to work. I would not say these are "dressy" pants, but I consider them in the middle, perhaps dressy casual. I've tried my best to answer your question. Hope that helps. My husband finds these pants very comfortable and a great style fit for work. |
Question: | How far forward do you mount the bracket to support a flat bottom jon boat |
Answer: | Because the pants are BIG and TALL The 34L means LONG...in regular pants 34 is a standard length... |
Question: | Do you get one or two |
Answer: | Maybe the $80.00 pair is made of a more expensive fabric! |
Question: | Is this price for each board and bracket? Or is it a pair |
Answer: | Sorry, I have not tried. I don't wear pants with cuffs. |

Instructions
1). These wheels have 2+1 adjustment positions for length base on the wheel arm end rotation position upper or lower. to remove the leg assembly from the bracket, simply push the stainless steel locking button and then the rotation button to release. 2). The wheels must face towards the boat tubes and be as far apart as possible (this will give you more stability when moving the boat around) and clear the boat tubes by about one inch so they don't rub against the tubes when being raised or lowered. the wheels must also clear the bottom of the boat by about one inch when placed in their lowered position. 3). Once you have determined the mounting positions for the brackets which should be straight up and down on the transom and about 6-8 inches up from the bottom of the bracket to the bottom of the boat, mark where to drill the 5/16” holes (drill bit not included). This is best done by separating the leg assembly from the bracket. double check everything again before drilling any holes! holes and transom must be vertical. 4. Use the supplied washers and lock nuts on the bolts on the inside of the transom to secure the brackets to the transom and then cap them with the supplied acorn nuts to protect your boat when rolled up. www.seamaxcanada.com 1877-907-7766- Seamax Easy Load Boat Launching Wheels Set is designed by Seamax Canada, made by hardest marine grade T6 aluminum alloy with CNC processing; Shiny looking anodized coating on all aluminum parts, product is good for saltwater using; Small parts are all made by solid stainless steel. And you can use marine sealant and suggested Sikaflex 291.
- Benefit from its new Push Button design & max 3 stages wheel arm, the system can be adjusted while afloat in the boat leaving or coming into, it can also bring different performance position for boat launching. The wheel arm length increment is 2.5” per stage, plus the wheel’s diameter, the range of length is 22-28 inches.

User questions & answers
Question: | I have a pelican predator 103. i've noticed the transom is not as wide as the inflatable boats. i'm wondering if these would work for my boat |
Answer: | My suggestion, a floor - although a good option - has two drawbacks. Make it a little harder to deploy and pack, and there is no protection if the dog scratches the side. What I use are these rubber dog boots. Your dog can use any unprotected rubber raft, protects their feet, rubber so it not slippery even on wood or tile, etc. Two notes: 1) do NOT get a perfect size, get one size larger. They need to be a little floppy because it is more comfortable for the dog and it is easier to put on and take off if you are a single person. If you are goign to use them for a bit of snow protection then you want them snug because lateral movement on the ground may make them come off. In either case it is easier to put them on using two people especially if the dog has long hair, one holding a wide hole, the other navigating the paw. Clearly worth it and far more versatile and helps non slip even on surfboards. http://www.amazon.com/Pawz-Water-Proof-Boot-Small-2-Inch/dp/B001J22876/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435465163&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=dog+fubber+boots |
Question: | Can the wheels be removed for storage, and do they interfere with motor movements |
Answer: | Hi; I have a 55-60 lb. dog and getting her in is no problem. What I find helpful tho is putting a tarp or cutting an air mattress the length of the boat. The added protection helps keep toenail pokes and scratches from getting to the raft itself. |
Question: | Will this fit a sea eagle foldcat |
Answer: | Let me tell you something, the Seahawk 2 was the best thing that has ever happened to me. They pointed and laughed and said it would never make it down the green river. I showed them. At the end of it all I sang the star spangled banner with all of the patriotism I have. Just buy it dude. |
Question: | can you add the extra wheels to these like you can on the delux modle |
Answer: | must be coriolis Force. try boating on equator. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How wide do they adjust out to the side |
Answer: | I just measured it. The bar will extend out to 17 inches. |
Question: | are these strong enough to guide 18 foot bass boat in strong cross current |
Answer: | I have an 18 foot deck boat. They have been quite helpful in cross winds and cross currents. I used to have to stand hip-deep in water as I pushed sideways to get us lined up on the bunks while my wife cranked the winch. Now I just pull it right in. |
Question: | My trailer is wider than my boat by about 8 inches. Can the post installation be reversed so the post actually go inward instead of out |
Answer: | The upright posts can be adjusted in and out to about ten inches or so. ,so shou!dn't be a problem for you. |
Question: | how long is the horizontal leg that goes under the boat and connects to the trailer |
Answer: | My boat is stored, so not handy right now. I have a Bennington 22' Pontoon boat and it was sufficient in length. Please note the horizontal portion of the leg is adjustable, not shown on the pic. It didn't even come close to maxing out on my boat. If putting on a Pontoon boat get the highest plastic tube avaiailable. Once the boat comes off the trailer, you can still see these when approaching, but once over the trailer they are below the sight line. Good luck. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this cover fit a Jon boat that has a steering console |
Answer: | I really like the flexible waist. It doesn't expand a whole lot but it's enough to make a good difference when your weight flexes often. |
Question: | My boat is 16 foot 7 inches long and 70 inches wide. Do i go with a 16 or and 18 model |
Answer: | Not sure how to order rise. Mine were high, when I really preferred low. Nice looking slacks, but feels like straddling a saw horse. |
Question: | Anyone try this on a 10' pond boat with 1 fold-down seat |
Answer: | These have a different fabric feel to them. The cool 18s are very polyester but these have more of a wool blend feel and look to them instead of that shiny, polyester plastic look..there a bit nicer |
Question: | Looking for warranty information for this boat cover? I have had it for less than a year and it has completely fallen apart |
Answer: | 24 to 24 1/2 inches |

The Extreme Max Roller Guide-On System provides a worthy assist while getting your boat on and off its trailer, helping you load and unload faster and safer. Attached to the trailer frame, the pair of bunk guide-ons help center the boat on the trailer, preventing wind and currents from derailing your loading attempts, while also providing a sight line at deep launches and in murky waters. The carpeted bunks provide a soft touch for your boat, while its steel construction withstands nearly anything you can throw at it.
