Answer:	Polycarbonate will crack and break within 3 to 5 years due to UV. I researched the internet and from my personal experience this is what happened to mine. As I'm writing this feedback to counter the misinformation from the first feedback, I am getting an acrylic backboard to replace my existing portable, which will last me 15-20 years. Answer:	Yes, you can hang it on a wall, but a wall mounting kit is not included. We have three separate mounting kits that are available. 8406SR is a standard mount that doesn't lift, and 8839SR is a mount that uses a ratchet lift to raise the system in 6" intervals from 7.5' to 10'. Lastly, is the 316 mount, which is an infinite adjust, and raises it from 7.5' to 10'.

Answer:	The Huffy Backboard is water resistant. We live in Arizona where it is extremely hot, yet the color on the backboard has not changed. This one is much better compared to the expensive one that we were given when we built our swimming pool.

Answer:	It is standard NBA size. I believed that once I purchased this set that I would be well on my way to the pros. It has yet to happen but I’m still chasing my dreams. I’m shooting about 60% from the free throw line. If I can raise that to 75% and start grabbing the rim I’m going to try out for the Pacers.

Answer:	I couldn't tell you the exact spacing, but there was a mounting bracket in place before we bought the backboard, and the new backboard was easily mounted to the old bracket. I am eighty years old and it is cold outside. I am not going out today and measure.

Answer:	The Lifetime universal mount kit is clearly designed to fit the exact location of the two vertical supports on the back of the backboard, and fitting that was tough enough. So I doubt that another 'universal' kit would match the Lifetime design without some tinkering.

Answer:	From bottom to top in the lowest setting, it is exactly 82 inches.

Answer:	I would say 4-5 feet by 2-3 feet. It's pretty large & heavy. It also shows what the item is on the box. I was relieved ours was delivered when my oldest was at school so the surprise wasn't ruined.

Answer:	While a full size basketball should fit, this is not a full size rim at only 15”. For junior-high up to pro the rim should be 18” in diameter.

Answer:	This basketball hoop only goes as high as 7.5ft. I bought it for my 5 year old who will be starting in a basketball league that plays in a 7.5ft. I can probably get 4-5 years out of this. If your child is already 10 years old (probably in 4th grade), you may only get 1-2 more years with this hoop. You may want to get the Lifetime 1221 Pro Court Height-Adjustable Portable Basketball System with 44-Inch Backboard instead since this will adjust from 7.5 to 10 ft. This item, #71525, comes with three pole sections, the bottom one of which is cemented directly into the ground, the backboard, hoop, net, and lift kit. It comes with all necessary screws, nuts, and bolts to put it together.That being said, it does NOT come with a "ground sleeve" kit, which is a separate, short metal pole section with a metal plate and single bolt, which some people like so that they can take the pole OUT of the ground at will simply by loosening the bolt. I did buy the ground sleeve section separately, and it comes with the metal plate and bolt.Hope this helps you.
Question:	How does the backboard play? Does it give realistic play for bank shots
Answer:	Well, the backboard wasn't as thick as I had hoped. Given that it's mounted from the ground up on a pole there is a little more "play" on the backboard for bank shots. However, it plays a lot better than the b ball hoops that are just mounted from a sand or water filled plastic base. For the price it's not a bad hoop. Installation was relatively easy. It helps having a 15 year old son willing to do the grunt work. The ground in AZ isn't the easiest thing to dig.

Answer:	You just take a broom handle or other long pole and push it up to desired height. To lower it, you just push the handle up to release it and lower it back down.

Answer:	Hello,We do not recommend putting the sand bags on top of the base. The system is much more stable with a filled base and putting the sand bags on top of it will void the warranty. The bases do have wheels and are generally not too difficult to roll around.

Answer:	Your local wine store... Cork it up! Ok, in all seriousness if you have a local ACE Hardware they will have something that will plug it up in their nuts & bolts, odds & ends section. I've been amazed at what they have in that section in the slide out drawers. Brass & plastic wing nuts, rubber bushings that fit around wires of a 1979 Honda motorcycle, etc. They will have something. Or you can do what I did. Drilled small holes around the bottom of the base and use a LARGE funnel to flush sand in holes with garden hose. Water will spill out the little holes and sand will pack every square inch of base. It will dry out and be stable and NOT hold any water. If it rains and water goes in the holes it will leak out the little holes and dry out again.

These systems generally feature a base that can be filled with sand or water to stabilize them and include wheels for portability. Although they are not as sturdy as in-ground or wall-mounted hoops, portables are simple to set up and can often be folded for convenient storage.

Backboard Considerations

Regardless of which system you choose, you'll want to brush up on Backboards 101. Most residential systems feature backboards made of acrylic, fiberglass, graphite, or various other composite materials. While clear acrylic gives the professional look and feel of glass, it is not as rigid as fiberglass or graphite. Some systems may offer steel or aluminum backboards, which are virtually vandal resistant, but don't offer the true rebounding action.

The regulation size of an NBA backboard is 72 inches wide and 42 inches high. Most portable hoops are 42 or 44 inches wide and 36 inches tall. In-ground systems tend to be a bit larger, with 54-inch and 60-inch widths being the most popular. While rectangular shaped backboards provide more bank shot opportunities, they are generally more expensive than the streamlined fan-shaped board.

Question:	Would this fit in my garage if lowered? Has anyone stored this in their garage
Answer:	The base pole is too long for it to be stored in an upright position, even with the hoop lowered
Question:	Does this item come with everything needed to install in ground pole? Trying to determine if I need Lifetime 3.5" ground sleeve
Answer:	You only need the ground sleeve if you're intent is for the pole to be removable. The item comes with everything ready to install minus the concrete that you can buy at a hardware store. I didn't get the sleeve for my install since i wanted a permanent pole in the ground.
Question:	How hard was it to install in ground without the sleeve? And be straight
Answer:	The straightness is NOT very much affected by sleeve/no-sleeve. For example, you have to use the base section of the main pole as a visual guide to position the ground sleeve at a true vertical (so that's the same way you would true the installation sleevelessly). I installed mine With sleeve, in a heavy concrete footer. Despite a lot of effort, there is a minor lean, though, maybe 1° off true vertical, but it does not seem to come from any play in the sleeve-pole connection. It seems to come from a tiny bit of play in the mechanism that raises and lowers the backboard. A perfectionist might not love it, but after maybe 8 years of use, mine hasn't worsened any, and I've never walked out and thought "damn that leaning pole." It's too subtle to much notice, outside of a nitpicking frame of mind.
Question:	how is it anchored and is it adjustable for plum after it's anchored
Answer:	I purchased the in-ground sleeve. That gets cemented into the ground. I made sure that was plum and level when I set it in the concrete. The pole then gets inserted into it. I chose the sleeve because now if I ever moved I could take the system with me ( minus the sleeve cemented in the ground ).

Answer:	No the backboard is polycarbonate. It's pretty solid and plays OK, but does not have as much ball bounce back as acrylic.(3 mm Makrolon Polycarbonate with Fade-Resistant Graphics)Glass: the most professional and expensive of backboard materials. Answer:	With multiple adjustments in height the distance from face of pole to face of backboard varies as such: at 10' (full height) it is about 13"; at 9' it is about 21"; at 8' it is about 20". There are height adjustments from 7.5' to 10' in 6" increments. Hope this helps.
