Question:	So this is a weird question, but I'd like to take my bicycle with me on my commute. Can I lock my bicycle to the bike rack using a typical bike lock
Answer:	Some people are suggesting locking the bike to the car with a cable. It should be noted that ANY cable, even the thickest and most secure ones on the market, can be cut in seconds. A cable of any type is, at best, a deterrent to the casual thief. A serious thief loves cables because they are so easily cut. If you have an expensive bike, the only option worth considering is a U-bolt type of lock. Simply remove your bike from the car rack and lock it to a post. Even U-bolts can be defeated but the time and tools required will send all but the most determined thief looking for easier prey, like a bike with a cable.

Answer:	This rack (or any strap mounted carrier) should not be used on the Volvo XC models. The issue is that the top of the rear door on the XC's is made of extremely brittle fiberglass that can crack if anything (i.e. metal hooks or bike rack straps) is placed in the seem at the top of the rear door. We would recommend installing a receiver hitch on your vehicle and using a hitch mounted carrier.

Answer:	Not far. The top bar has a flat hunk of plastic (an inch or so thick) that must make direct contact with the wall. The legs curve forward a bit, and they probably sit about a foot from the wall, I reckon.

Answer:	Yes, they work well. I staggered heights and spaced them 18" apart. Yes, you have to swing them over to get to one in the middle. Hope this helps!
Question:	What is the widest tire anyone has put on these racks? I have a 29 x 2.4 - thinking it may not fit well
Answer:	It should fit. The back brace, which your tire slips through, is 2 3/8". You might have to push a little... but it should be able to get through it. The holding brace (the one that folds out) is wider so that won't be a problem. The 29" will easily stay in the holding brace. This is absolutely the best way to store your bikes. Easy to set up and easy to slip bike into holder. You just have to have the upper body strength to lift up the front tire. I have two and will never go back to anything else.

Question:	what is the difference between Reg and heavy duty
Answer:	1.prepare the tools : stud finder，pencil, level, power drill.open the package, take out the product accessories.     2.find stud center by stud finder and fix the installation location by level, and make the mark of the holes with a pencil. 3.use power drill to predrill the holes on the wall, then put the rail on the wall and tighten the screws. 4. snap the hooks on one by one and hang your tools . each hook can bear about 50lbs. Question:	Can this be mounted outdoors on a masonry wall? It would be under the roof overhang so it's got about 5' of cover in our back patio
Answer:	It is about 9,84 inches
Question:	How far will this stick out
Answer:	I hope I'm not adding to the confusion here. Yes, there are drywall studs rated for higher weights, but that's based on a more-or-less straight downward force. With an arm like this, the force will be into the wall at the bottom screw and pulling out from the wall at the top. That creates a twisting force which drywall doesn't withstand very well. Yes, you might get away with drywall only with a light bike, but I'd suggest finding a stud as many of the other answers suggest. The unasked question: how do I find the stud? Some people have success hitting the wall and picking a solid spot; others use a stud finder tool. A cheap and dirty way is to make a guess and then drive in a thin nail an inch or so. If you hit wood, you've got a stud. If the nail gets through the 1/2" or so of drywall and then hits nothing, keep trying. Studs run up and down, are 1.5" wide and normally are 16" apart. Use these facts to guide your strategy.

Answer:	I'd say about 2" to 2.5" diameter max.

Question:	What is the range of adjustable distance from the wall to the supports
Answer:	Worked fine for me. Just hung it out where the carpenter bees like to be and they started to enter the holes and dying in the jars. Empty the jar so new ones can enter. Best to hang each year BEFORE the bees start making holes in your other woodwork. Once they establish a home elsewhere, they don't necessary have a desire to make a new one.
Question:	Can I mount on drywall
Answer:	I can't get this stuff to work on any bees or wasps.
Question:	What is the maximum top tube width that the hanger will accommodate
Answer:	I have recently used this for the first time. I have two traps but unfortunately the bees seem to gravitate toward their original drilling locations. The traps have only collected a couple of bees (I did use the lure).
Question:	What is the minimum and maximum range on distance from wall
Answer:	Very hard to predict. I would give a particular trap and location a couple weeks before trying a different location. I've noticed that even with the Donaldson lure applied it may take a few days with the bees not showing interest, but once yoy finally get one there are almost always others that will follow, so don't kill any live bees in the trap, as they will attract others. At a certain point dead bees in the traps don't seem to attract more bees so you should rinse it out. I've seen bees boring holes as low as 2 inches off the ground and as high as the eaves of my covered deck that is 20 feet off th ground, but always in an area that is protected from rain-- usually the bottom edge of boards or the backside that faces inward. Be sure to hang traps securely rather than freely swinging, and as close to an area that they like to bore in, like the aforementioned bottom edge of boards.

Answer:	None of our racks are approved for use on a trailer mounted receiver hitch. Any trailer or trailered vehicle (including 5th wheel type) has a slight side to side motion that's very low frequency (1 to 1-1/2 times per second) that fatigues the steel from which the racks are manufactured. The fatigue first happens at a molecular level, but eventually (several thousands of cycles later) a visible crack will appear. Once the crack has formed, it will enlarge, finally to the point where the rack drops off the vehicle and the rack (and bikes) impact the roadway. This is also a dangerous situation for whoever may be following the trailer on the highway. We have seen 100+ incidents where the consumers/end user has not taken this advice and suffered disastrous results. I've even had phone calls from consumers who said they read that advice (do not use on a trailer) and ignored it, only to discover a tragic end result. So . . . don't do it. If you insist on doing it regardless of the above, please use some other companies’ rack.

Answer:	Not far. The top bar has a flat hunk of plastic (an inch or so thick) that must make direct contact with the wall. The legs curve forward a bit, and they probably sit about a foot from the wall, I reckon.

Question:	can i use this on a 50 cc dirt bike i have a zte avid plus
Answer:	Am not sure. It fits bicycle definitely but you are talking about bikes. It night fit but the problem would be possibilities of moving out of position since even if my bicycle gets more jerks i need to adjust a bit to bring the mount back to position. Although it does not happen frequently but yeah it does. With dirt bike am assuming for the jerks it might not be the best buy for u.
Question:	Is there a way to tighten down the ball joint to prevent it from moving? Can't seem to get it tight enough
Answer:	My husband and I both got one, and it hasn't moved during a ride yet, so maybe your's was defective and a little more loose than it should be? Although, we haven't tried going offroad more than just some in the grass and a little gravel, so it's possible in rougher terrain that maybe it would get knocked around. On the side that attaches to the bike, you have to unscrew the black ring first and put that over the ball joint, THEN you pop the ball joint into the socket, then you tighten the ring back on. If you're doing that and it's still having issues, then I'm not sure. :( Sorry.
