Answer:	I don't think it's waterproof. It is battery-powered. It's possible that the casing would protect the batteries, but I couldn't really tell. If you keep it out of the water, it would work just fine.

Question:	Is there a volume control? Is that what the “3 tones” means... I want to use this in a 500 sq ft classroom. Not sure if it will be too loud
Answer:	The three tones means there are three different whistle sounds. It does not have a volume control. We use it outside to referee soccer. I have "tested" it in my house, and it's pretty loud. However, I have small rooms, also. If you use it in a short burst as opposed to a prolonged tone, you would probably be ok. However, it really depends on how loud you need it to be to be heard.
Question:	Is there a trick to getting the battery cover off? I pushed the switch down but I can't get it off. I don't want to force it and break it
Answer:	I push switch down and use my finger nail at the same time and pull it open. Not the best design but that works for me.
