What I'm referring to is you have to get at least 2 folds on the top of the bag and then clamp them together to insure a water tight seal... PS I still put my cell phone in a ziplock bag before packing just to make sure... If you purchase this bag you won't be disappointed.

Answer:	It's a dry bag. Once folded over it keeps items dry. Other than retaining the odor of food inside the bag , I guess you can hang it up. If you're asking if it masks odors so bears and other predators won't get it, I don't know. You're on your own.

The front vertical zip pocket, however, is "splash proof" only and is meant for non-sensitive items such as lip balm, credit card etc. This type of bag is not designed to be consistently submerged and used a a swim buoy etc. We have other bags that would be more appropriate for that type of use. Answer:	Yes the phone bag is waterproof, it recommends you test it, I did n had no problem. It does suggest testing the phone bag each time you plan to use it. The waste bag has three pressed like zip lock seals and a final Velcro. I also tested this n no leak. The dry back closes but not completely. Hence items could get in here if you had major water, rapids.

Answer:	They seem to be some sort of light weight duck cloth coated in a rubber or vinyl. The material is very pliable, but is not tacky. They are actually air tight if the opening is rolled and closed properly.

Answer:	Submerged for an extended period, that depends on the user closing them correctly..... But to drop them out of a boat with tablets, phones, etc.... Perfectly safe! I would suggest purchasing a combo set that comes with the phone cases with lanyards... Those kept my LG completely dry after being soaked multiple times, and work perfectly right thru the case.... Just as touch sensitive as without....Truely Amazing Products!
