Here are some key points about Sector 9 wheels for longboards:

  1. Material: Sector 9 wheels are typically made from high-quality urethane. Urethane is a common material for longboard wheels because it offers a good balance between grip and durability.

  2. Size and Durometer: Sector 9 wheels come in various sizes and durometers (hardness levels). The size and durometer you choose will depend on your riding style and the type of terrain you plan to ride on. Softer wheels (lower durometer) provide better grip and a smoother ride on rough terrain, while harder wheels (higher durometer) are faster and slide more easily.

  3. Shape: Sector 9 offers a range of wheel shapes to suit different riding styles. Some wheels have a square-lipped design, which provides more grip and stability for downhill and carving. Others have a rounded lip, making them more suitable for sliding and freeride.

  4. Core Design: Sector 9 wheels may feature different core designs, such as offset, centerset, or sideset cores. Core placement can affect the wheel's performance, including its grip, slide characteristics, and overall feel.

  5. Graphic Designs: Sector 9 is also known for its unique and eye-catching graphic designs on its wheels. These graphics add a touch of style to your longboard setup.

  6. Terrain and Riding Style: It's essential to choose Sector 9 wheels that match your preferred terrain and riding style. If you're into downhill racing, you might opt for larger, grippier wheels. If you enjoy sliding and tricks, smaller and harder wheels could be more suitable.

  7. Compatibility: Ensure that the Sector 9 wheels you choose are compatible with your longboard's trucks and deck. Most wheels are designed to fit standard longboard trucks.

  8. Maintenance: Like all longboard wheels, Sector 9 wheels require regular maintenance. Cleaning, rotating, and checking for wear are essential to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

  9. Price Range: Sector 9 wheels come in various price ranges, making them accessible to a wide range of longboarders, from beginners to advanced riders.

Sector 9 Butterball Longboard Wheels 65mm 80a

Product description

How They Shred: The 65mm Sector 9 Butterballs are an awesome smaller wheel for cruiser setups or easier sliding. They have a smaller contact patch than the larger 70mm versions but still have all the ooey, gooey, buttery goodness! They have a pre-ground surface and rounded edges that let you bust into slides on the drop of a dime. The butter based urethane (it’s not really butter based) leaves fatty thane lines behind as well so when you are doing bigger slides than your friends it will be clear who the real boss is! We really like to shred these wheels a bit and then throw them on our street boards and cruiser boards. Once they are really broken in and worn down a bit they slide amazing on smaller decks!

User questions & answers

Question: They’re advertised as 75a but they’re printed 80a on the wheel? What’s the truth? I’m looking for 75a
Answer: They come from the factory already broken in. They are ready to slide the second you put them on your board.
Question: Hello. they are advertised as 75a but also are advertised as 80a in this anouncement. but they are printed in picture as 80a. what exactly says yours
Answer: Hi Marcus, Thank you for your interest with Sector 9 Butterballs. Yes, you can almost always go with smaller wheels, so going from 70mm to 65mm should be just fine. However, you should double check when you go to larger wheels as larger can lead to fitment issues and wheelbite. Please feel free to contact us with any other questions or concerns. Thanks, David
Question: Comparing this (70mm-75a) to sharkwheels (70mm-78a), which one is smoother for rough grounds and high/large bumps
Answer: Hi Elena, Thank you for your interest with Butterballs. Both are excellent and I do not think you will make a wrong choice. The Stimulus flex a bit more because they have a smaller core. This makes them slightly more grippy. The Butterballs slide slightly easier with their larger core (called the Cosmic Core by Sector 9). However, it is important to note that I am talking very small differences here. Both wheels are designed for all around riding geared towards freeride. I hope this helps. Please feel free to contact us with any other questions or concerns. Thanks,David
