My son is on the spectrum also. He's fine on a 2-wheel scooter as he doesn't have balance issues. This is a lot more work than a regular scooter and the back end kind of whips around to do tricks and stunts. Imo, this is not more stable than a regular scooter and with my son there was a bit of a learning curve. I have seen 3-wheel scooters that are not the Flickr type. Those may be better.

Why was I sent just the users manual and not the scooter

What I received via priority mail was basically a flyer telling me how to submit a video in order to receive a tote bag for the scooter. This came a day or two before the scooters arrived. (One scooter came with a flyer on how to download the user's manual; one had the printed user's manual.)

My first thought was "I don't know", but contacting the SKIDEE company would be where I would start! The same thing happened with one (of the two grandchildren's). Fortunately, we found the screw. I realized that we needed to use the tools provided to tighten all the screws. No issues after that!
