The Maxi is designed for children ages 6-11, up to 120 lbs, but may be suitable for a younger child depending on their weight and coordination. If a child weighs 35 lbs, they will certainly enjoy the Mini, but may be able to ride the Maxi. That being said, the Mini's lighter weight does make it more easily maneuverable and also helps build confidence, both of which can add to the overall enjoyment. The Maxi weighs just 1.5 lbs more than the Mini and its deck is 1 inch wider and almost 2 inches longer; this makes the Maxi a little more challenging to control, maneuver and pick up than the Mini.
