Answer:	It depends on how tall the individual is. If average height, this bike may be on the small side. If small for his age, it should be fine. The next size is 24 inch, which probably is better for an average- or taller than average size boy.

We got a 16" Schwinn Amplify for our grandson in our hometown, and it has a plate fitted for a kickstand, which we had put on at a local bike shop for $8, parts and labor. I'm not sure if the Kent has that same fitting.
