User questions & answers
Question: | How come this stand is a good hundred bucks more expensive than the chinese one |
Answer: | FYI to all you guys , this stand is also made in China.. Just saying.. Some of Park tools stuff is really great and has the quality you expect from the company, this stand however I don't think is any better than the "Bike Hand" brand repair stand. The only thing this stand has over the bike hand one is the metal clamp but then it has cheaper stuff on the rest of the stand so I would say they are about even. Park Tools does charge too much for some of their stuff when you compare it to other brands, especially when you find this stand is also made in China anyways. |
Question: | Does it extend heigh enough to work on a bike without bending down |
Answer: | Most definitely it extends high enough. |
Question: | Does this fold up without assembly when not in use |
Answer: | It folds up while assembled. I use it daily for work and have to unfold and fold every day to fit in the back seat of my truck. You have to assemble it out of the box it's sent to you in however. |
Question: | How much weight will it hold |
Answer: | According to the Park Tool website this tool will hold up to 80 lbs if the bike is centered over the legs. I mounted my 67 lb. Rad Mini e-bike on this stand and the stand felt solid. |

Question: | You seemed to avoid the question," how much will the stand hold " can the park tool deluxe home mechanic repair stand hold my 65# ebike |
Answer: | Unfortunately we do not carry that size. |
Question: | where is this made |
Answer: | Yes this is one piece. |
Question: | The pcs-4-2 & pcs-4-1 models look vastly different. why have them combined here? what are the differences |
Answer: | Sorry for the delayed response. Well, I have two reclines with legs and these work well. Without legs, I'm going to say yes because there is a hole for a release arm on the side. And they seem suited for all. I also debated on buying these because I did not think they would fit the two recliners I purchased. From a thrift shop. They fitted very well. |

Answer: | Yes it does |
Question: | is the hight adjustment collar plastic or metal |

How to Measure: To measure around the back of the recliner, start just above the arms and around the back. Measure across the front of the seat cushion. Measure the depth of the seat cushion from the front center to the back. Measure the height of the chair from the floor to the highest point of the back of the chair. Measure the width of the chair by measuring straight across the top of the back, from edge to edge. Google is great in helping with even measuring! |

User questions & answers
Question: | How do you recommend mounting it to a base |
Answer: | Yes, avail. Lists as a 4 piece. To anyone out there, a four piece can be used to work on a love set or a 3 piece sofa. Order 2 or 3 sets. The all are composed of separate bottom, arms and backs, so can use on any size sofa. So all you need is two arms a bottom and a top. If you cannot find the size you want in a color you want order the other sizes (ie: a love seat for a recliner using 2 sets, etc) and may have extras\ parts, which could be a good thing..... Even a recliner one can be used for the center of a 3 seat sofa, just don't use the arms. |
Question: | Is centering tool needed |
Answer: | Very well hidden on this page, or on one of the other sizes this company offers offer is a video. I even tried to find on line but did better on another size, like the love seat or recliner to find video. I do feel one very weak part of this product is the instructions. I was almost in tears how to do do it. The loops for seat, go under the back and you pull through on the sides to the BACK of the sofa. bring the two out and then together and hook onto the weird white disk thing and hold the strap across the back of the sofa. Then place the back piece with the straps on the back side of the sofa. Pull down and hook the loops under your sofa on any hook portion of the internal sofa mechanism. Or can go under the seat strap and hook on the the weird white disk, but I did not have to do that. Good luck and find a video, it is pretty easy once you see and get it! |
Question: | This stand looks like a ts 2.2p. it makes me wonder why amazon calls it " park tool professional wheel truing stand, blue". is it really a 2.2p |
Answer: | Definitely more blueish color. |
Question: | What is the maximum width hub this stand will handle |
Answer: | Yes it would. Mine was a little smaller and it fits just a tad bit big. But all I have to do is tuck in all the loose spots and it looks great. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this work on the double deluxe prs |
Answer: | Use (SAC-2) by Park Tools... made for that purpose. Hope this helps... |
Question: | I have the pcs-10, which i reduce to storage size after each use. Would the tray come off and re-attach easily, for my purposes |
Answer: | Should not be a problem. |
Question: | Will this tray fit with the PRS-25 stand? Are accessories needed to make it for properly? Interested if it doesn't require much retrofitting |
Answer: | You could apply this lube to whatever you want, but for seat posts, handlebars and stems the recommended material is a carbon/alloy compound or paste such as Park Tool SuperGrip Carbon and Alloy Assembly Compound part #SAC-2. This paste helps create a tighter grip between two slippery surfaces (seat posts), carbon or aluminum. And also helps to eliminate squeaking in these areas.Having 100-200+ lbs. on a bike seat/post plus the road vibrations, bumps, potholes, curbs, etc. puts a lot of downward pressure on the seat post causing constant re-tightening adjustments. The paste was made to eliminate this slippage and constant seat post readjustments. |
Question: | how does this attach to a PCS-9? do I need the "accessory collar |
Answer: | I use it for all bearings on my bikes, so yes it is for metal-to-metal contact surfaces. |

Question: | Will this accommodate wheels with 15mm Maxle or 12mm axle instead of the standard QR setup |

Question: | Will this work for motorcycle wheels as well |
Answer: | PCS-4-1 uses the 100-5C Adjustable Linkage ClampClamp rotates 360ºThe clamp jaws are nominally 4 inches (10cm) wideThe PCS-4-2 uses the 100-5D Micro-Adjust ClampClamp rotates 360ºThe clamp jaws are nominally 2.75 inches (7cm) wideI chose the PCS-4-2 for the quick release clamp and winding handle to tighten in place, reviews favored it as well, I'm very happy with my purchase. Here is a Park Tool video, copy and paste to your browser to watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRJOwY8wgS4 |
Question: | Does this work for magnesium tri spoke wheels |
Answer: | It's how I store mine. I have a decent size garage so I leave the stand set up and always have my bike mounted when I'm not riding. It makes it very easy to fill and check tires and wipe off road grime. Really a nice repair stand. |
Question: | Will it accept 20 mm through axles or a 15 mm Maxle |
Answer: | It is very sturdy. Depending on how heavy your bike there shouldn't be an issue. I typically always mount my bike via the seat post and at various angles that have not caused it to tip over. |
Question: | Can you straighten rotors with this |
Answer: | Park web site video states that it folds down to 47" x 9" x 9" for storage or transportation. |
