User questions & answers

Question: will this take a standard zerk nozzle adapter? will it apply enough force to push it though?. using for santa cruz VPP lower link greasing
Answer: If you turn the heat down and use it to "curl" you could end up with a more wavy look. When I curl my hair with it I can shake the curls out enough to get a wavy look.
Question: can this be used for Park Tool's assembly compound
Answer: yes, it has a temperature control from 180° to 460°
Question: Will this work with Speedplay’s
Answer: Me too!! $120 bucks at the mall. Just dropped it and broke it after seven years of use. Found them on amazon (herstyler isn't at my mall anymore) and bought 2 of them for $23.00 each. :) One for my house and one to keep over my friend's that I stay at all the time. I measured my plates and they are one inch and these are 1.25 inch. That's the only difference I see and I haven't received them yet, but I hope it works the same.
Question: Can this be attached directly to the grease bottle
Answer: I don't remember what the warranty is. If you look on Amazon for this product, it should tell you.

User questions & answers

Question: For use with carbon parts? I read somewhere that "friction paste" should be used instead of "grease" for carbon parts
Answer: They are bike tube patches so they adhere to rubber to seal a hole. Don’t know about metal🤷🏼‍♀️
Question: Will this work for coil bike shocks
Answer: All the same size. About 1inch square. Never had a hole one of these couldn't patch.
Question: Should I get this for applying to my aluminum seat post
Answer: Yes they will.
Question: Is this the type of grease that is used for metal-on-metal contact on bikes
Answer: Yes. I keep a pack of these in my kit at all times. Spares for my spare if you will. I’ve had mine for a few years and they still work great.

User questions & answers

Question: is this suitable for wheel bearings on a motorized bike (30mph
Answer: It doesn't really matter. The cement tube in the patch kit will be dried out within 10 months of first use. As a practical matter, I've found that these Park patch kits are a single use item.I'm a verified purchaser of this Park VP-1 patch kit. As I suggest in my review, you can buy good quality Kenda inner tubes for about $5.75 each, shipped. I now carry a new inner tube in my panniers and would install that instead of patching. However, I also carry a replacement Park patch kit for the unlikely event of having two or more flats in one day. That event is so unlikely that I prefer to carry the small, light Park patch kit instead of a second new inner tube. The cement tube in the Park kit will remain fluid for many years as long as it is kept sealed and unused.
Question: can I use this for my pedals on spin bike
Answer: No clue. This one works great though.
Question: Would this work on free bearing in my shimano hg500 hub set up
Answer: The only plastic parts are those colored blue in the illustration plus the rubber pads in the clamp. I have had numerous Park bike tools, and I have found them to be of consistently high quality.
Question: Should i use this or polylube 1000 on a through axle
Answer: 14.5" from the back of the mounting plate to the center of the bike frame

  • Helps create a tighter grip between two slippery surfaces
  • Ideal for carbon, aluminum, and steel seatposts, handlebars, and stems
  • 4 oz. (113 g) tube

User questions & answers

Question: my seatpost has a shim and my frame is carbon, will it make the 3 way interaction between my carbon seatpost, my alloy shim, and my carbon frame grip
Answer: Yes -- I use this flat iron to curl my hair and it works very well! The feature I like about this flatiron, along with being able to hold the tip, is the smooth, angled shape of the sides so your curls aren't lumpy. Most irons are boxy whereas this one was designed to have hair curl around.
Question: I need a little more grip for my computer mount on my carbon bars without tightening the mount further. Will this work
Answer: Yes, it will automatically close within 60 minutes after stopping work, I hope it will help you!
Question: Bought a new stem (eastonea70) and even when tightened all the way the handle bars still roll forward with pressure. will this work w non-carbon parts
Answer: No, they do not taper at the end
Question: Will this work for regular steel (chrome) on steel seatposts
Answer: No it does not
Question: Is this safe to use on a carbon fiber build
Answer: 1 inch
Question: is this waterproof bearing grease? I want to use on my speedplay pedals
Answer: it could but its better if you dry by towel first then use it
Question: Is this carbon fiber safe
Answer: I don’t think you can manually do that. I think the flat iron automatically does it when you adjust the temperature. You adjust the temperature via a little knob is inside the handle.

  • Perfect for the home workshop or event tool box
  • Made from heat-treated spring steel and vinyl dipped for comfort
  • Built to last, like all Park Tool products
  • 11.5" (29cm) long

User questions & answers

Question: Will a standard metric wrench fit
Answer: This does NOT fit on older Sears bikes. The screws have to be tightened beyond what is possible in order for it to stay on.
Question: How thick is the wrench
Answer: Think I had exactly the same problem; perhaps not as specific as you state. Anyway, the pillow top seat is VERY COMFORTABLE. The factory installed seat on my Schwinn Surburban was too long and a bit hard. The pillow top is a lot easier on your bottom and I found that it also relieved some leg muscle pain that I had attributed to bike riding exertion. I think this is a good upgrade for your bike.
Question: Why is it rounded? This is just stripping the nut
Answer: All I can say is everyone's backside is different but I'm kinda small 5-9 165 and I hated it . Took it off and put the stock seat back on .I've found for me it's what I wear that makes more of a difference . I'd have given you mine if I hadn't thrown it out
Question: do these work on 9/16 pedals
Answer: the seat at the top is 9.25" approx. from seam to seam. the base at the bottom is more. but the part you sit on is 9.25". Nice seat but at 200lbs and 5'8" it's still a little too narrow for my comfort. It worked okay until I got the Bell Sports Comfort 950 Noseless Bicycle Seat. That seat is 12.75" across the top seam to seam and felt much better to me personally. I would have liked it even better is the seat was just flat across the top but it the best seat so far and I have tried 4 seats after the original.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this work on a joroto x2 exercise bicycle? thank you! i believe it has 22mm threads
Answer: If you loosen the post mount you can rotate it.
Question: How do i use this? I purchased it and it came with no instructions
Answer: It depends on your stand. Here is the link to the park description: http://www.parktool.com/product/work-tray-plastic-104. Mine came with a collar and with that used, I measure the minimum diameter to be 1 7/16 (close to their spec). As long as you are trying to attach it to a tube of roughly that size, you should be good. If your tube is close but a little smaller you could try enlarging your tube with something like duck tape. Basically, the hole splits down the center and the plastic for half of it is held on by two screws that clamp it sort of like a U-clamp. So I'm guessing you could also put it on a slightly larger tube but not larger by much.
Question: Will this work on a type ii or "nut" spindle ? my crank is attached with a 14mm nut, not a bolt that spins out
Answer: Yes it should work well
Question: Will this work on a bowflex max trainer
Answer: You can apply it to the threads of the pedal spindle before attaching the pedals to the spin bike.

  • Other end fits adjustable cups with pin holes
  • Heat treated and nickel plated for long life
  • Made in the USA

User questions & answers

Question: Whill this fit the schwinn occ chopper bike
Answer: Plastic covering over sand. I know because mine cracked. Sand-like substance leaked out. Looking here for possible replacement of only the weight.
Question: What is the pin length
Answer: You have to be able to remove the clothes rack bar.....then these slide on and the bar is put back in place. They are designed so that they are harder to remove and don't get stolen in hotels. We use them at an elementary school. The bottom part falls out of the top loop part kind of easily though, so we added a little duct tape and they are solid now.
Question: It's this compatible with campagnolo nuove record bottom bracket
Answer: Tension is always on the line, not like a window shade. Works fine.
Question: do the pins fit the slotted cone on an American bottom bracket
Answer: It is metal; not plastic. We have it above our bath tub and it has stayed nice for a long time; but we do not have a full shower in that tub so it doesn't get wet. I don't know if it would rust if it were exposed to water regularly.

  • Seals and protects parts from corrosion and rust under the most extreme conditions
  • Ideal for bottom bracket and pedal threads, pressed headset cups, seat posts, quill stems, etc.
  • For use on steel, aluminum, and titanium
  • 4 oz. (113 g) tube

User questions & answers

Question: Has anyone tried this for ball bearings in a 3 peice crankset before? How well did it work
Answer: It should fit. How well depends on the size of the lock ring. I think it fits newer model bikes better than older. It was too loose for my liking on a late 80's Shimano bottom bracket lock ring. Park lists the maximum major diameter as 46mm and the maximum minor diameter as 40mm. The closer your lock ring measurements are to these maximums, the better the fit will be.
Question: Can I use this for my pedals when I put them in the bracket so they don't squeak
Answer: I am not familiar with the specific bike that you mention, but these two tools fit different applications. The HCW-18 will fit mostly one piece cranksets. The HCW-5 will fit 3-notch lockrings with an outside diameter of 46mm.
Question: Does this smell as bad as automotive anti-seize
Answer: yes
Question: Which parts/spots/places on a bike would I actually apply this specifically? Pedal threads? Chain rings? Bottom Bracket
Answer: Disregard my previous message, you will need the BBT-22 or the BBT-32.

User questions & answers

Question: What does the plastic thing do on the end
Answer: Yes works great
Question: Does this work to install a sm-bb
Answer: My wife loves it. I had to adjust 3 of the tiers for her. I don't know you couldn't leave one of the tiers off, if you wanted too. You can make it 3 tiers.
Question: So how do you know you have applied the proper torque with this tool? many bbs creak from improper nm application
Answer: No. It holds ankle boots and tennis shoes. I have one pair of tall knee length boots and I keep them on top of the stand where the handle is. I just stnad them on top though- they won't slide into the shoe slots.
Question: The plastic peice on the end of this tool, is it the shimano tl-fc
Answer: The one I have could possibly hold another tier if the shoes are small enough. I wear size 10 and the rows are just close enough together to not be packed. If you had another one that broke, and kept a tier, it would probably work. I did that with another one I had that this one replaced.
