This question is more a matter of personal preference than technical properties. Coverage, durability, ease of application, etc. with Watco are essentially the same with maple as with other species. Depth of penetration in maple will tend to be less than in softer, more open grain species. If you prefer not to darken the natural color or accentuate the grain of maple (especially figured maple), it would be better to use a film finish (varnish, laquer, shellac) alone. Film finishes can be applied after Watco if you take care to wait until it is completely polymerized.

Answer:	It sure seems to be wax-free in my experience with it (or the wax content must be very, very low). This propolis is very thick and concentrated in a isopropyl alcohol (grain alcohol) based tincture. I believe the quality is comparable to the excellent Brazilian propolis.

Answer:	This is not going to be a durable finish if that’s what your look for. This is an oil with shellac in it which will give you a great base to work from. For a softer satin finish. I used it last on a shaker style bed side table that was simple and rustic in nature then finished it off with high quality furniture wax. If you want a more durable finish you can go with a urethane but stick with a satin finish i think you will be much happier. Also YouTube is loaded with a number of good videos. There is a guy in Maine who is a professional restorer who puts out videos who is very good at explaining why he does various techniques. You will pick up a lot just seeing how he does things.

Use a Dremel to cut slots through the factory covers over the holes to keep the leaves and dirt.out. mount feet and push cover up to it and Mark it this will give you the length you need for hole then put cover in front of foot to get center of hole. Use Dremel with cutting bit..
