Easy Quick Lock Mechanism

Before using your poles, make sure that your locks are firmly secured. While the tip is on the ground, test to ensure the lock is secure by pushing on the top of the handle so the tip presses into the ground. If your pole shortens while doing this then you need to readjust the height and tighten the lock more.

Step 1. Open Tab and Adjust

Fully open the quick lock tab and adjust to desired height.

Step 2. Tighten Thumbscrew

Tighten Thumbscrew by turning it 1/4" to 1/2" turns clockwise.

Step 3. Close Quick Lock Tab

Quick Lock Tab should be difficult to close when properly tightened.

Step 4. Test and Readjust

Apply weight to the pole. If pole begins to collapse, repeat steps 1-3 until it remains at desired height.

Question:	Anyone had a problem with the locking mechanism coming loose so the pole collapses while walking? I have different brand with that problem
Answer:	Yes. I'm not sure what these others are talking about but the Revis no locking mechanism on the sections of these poles. They just loosely slide together, and are in constant danger of sliding apart again in use.

Question:	My husband is 6' 7", will he still be able to use these comfortably
Answer:	I am 6'1" and have them set at 50". You need to set them so your forearms are at 90 degrees on level ground. Just have him hold his forearms are at 90 degrees from elbow, and measure from floor to hands. I think the max for these poles are 55", but you can confirm that in the listing. Question:	are the tips secure enough that the tip will not be pulled out by sticky clay mud
Answer:	Yes we had one trail where the mud was like glue and I never lost a tip but found three extras from others who lost theirs in the trails. I highly recommend these trekking poles!

Answer:	They come with multiple tips, an integrated tungsten carbide tip for ice or special terrain, a rubber cap for general hiking, a mud and sand basket, a snow basket for use in snow, and a trekking foot for harder surfaces. My wife and I took these to Yosemite this past summer and they were great to have along.
Question:	Is it firm enough, does the joints/lock loose
Answer:	I adjusted the poles to the correct height and pushed down witb a lot of force. Once I had the locks tight they did not move. I tried the other kind of locks on a different pole. I could not get them tight enough and they were hard to open with my arthritis. I haven't used them in the field yet.
Question:	Are these the 2014 models or the older twist lock versions

Answer:	It's pretty light. It's great for my 7 year old.

Answer:	Ours is slightly tapered, with the top being slightly larger than the bottom. Stick is not circular in cross-section, it is oval. With ~1" being the long axis and 3/4" being the short axis. Makes for a nice fit in child's hand.
Question:	Are the attachments good for walking in sand? I’m recovering from a broken knee and looking for a walking stick that will be good for my beach vacat
Answer:	It'd be on the big side, but I don't think I've ever met a 2 year old who didn't feel like they were using something for a big kid! They'd just have to grab around the stick vs holding the top. If you think they could do that, I don't see why they couldn't use it.

Answer:	I went to lowes, grabbed a replacement rake handle and used it to walk around. I figured this would put my hand in a natural place! When I was comfortable I measured to the top of my hand. Quick Lock

Answer:	Hi Jennifer, trekking poles can indeed be used by kids! We do have customers who have purchased our poles for their kids and who've found that the poles truly help their kids especially on uphill or uneven terrain. Now, for choosing the right trekking pole for them, there are several factors you need to consider. First is the height - you can measure the length between your child's elbow to the ground and if they are at least 24.5 inches, then our poles should be suitable for their height. Other factors to consider are weight and the size of the grip - and these two really depend on your kids' strength and hand size. There are poles that are specifically made for kids with a lighter weight and smaller grip and these might be more suitable especially for your 5-year old. The disadvantage of it is that kids can outgrow those poles quite quickly due to limited length adjustability (they are shorter, which makes them lighter). Our poles should not be a problem for your 7 and 10 year old, but might be a bit on the heavy side for your 5-year old (each pole is 9.7 ounces which is roughly the weight of 5 tennis balls), but on the plus side, it will also grow with your child and will last him a long time. Answer:	It's 24.5 inches short when collapsed. However if that still won't fit your suitcase, you can disassemble it and the length will go down to 21 inches. It'll be very easy to put it back together if you disassemble it.
Question:	Can I hike with them through rivers? Can these get wet
Answer:	Yes, in fact it would be good to have these if you're going through rivers - they'll save you from accidental slips especially if the rocks are a bit slippery, and you can also use them to gauge and test the ground (or riverbed) that you're about to step on. We'd recommend giving the poles a thorough drying afterwards though by taking them apart and patting dry or air drying. As with all things metal, rust is an enemy and drying the poles will help prevent that.
Question:	Do the new Trailbuddy screw-on rubber tips screw on to these poles? The pictures don't show a lower set of threads on the tips
Answer:	Makers of Trailbuddy told me yesterday that they had worked on a new set of threads that attach the rubber tips so that they cannot come off. They promised to send me a new lower pole with new tips. I do not know when this will come/ and be offered online. It sounds as if it will be soon...in the next few weeks.

Answer:	Well, the trekking poles don’t double as rifles.....altho they assemble fairly quietly, I would do that prior to going out. The wrist loops are nice but even if you use only one (as I did for my last hike), it’s not short enough to keep it from dragging on the ground. Basically, the pole will only be as quiet as whatever is underfoot and wherever you place it. Also comes with several different tips (which might help in softening any sounds.
