3 best 1 man tent
A one-man tent, also known as a solo tent or a single-person tent, is a small, compact shelter designed to accommodate just one person during camping, hiking, or other outdoor activities. These tents are popular among solo adventurers who prefer to travel light and do not require extra space. Here are some key features and aspects of one-man tents:
Size and Weight: One-man tents are typically designed to be lightweight and easy to carry. They are compact when packed and are intended for backpacking or hiking trips where minimizing weight is essential.
Capacity: As the name suggests, these tents are designed to sleep one person comfortably. They usually come with a single sleeping area and limited space for gear storage.
Design: One-man tents come in various designs, including dome, tunnel, and bivy styles. Dome tents are freestanding and offer better headroom, while bivy tents are minimalist and low-profile, ideal for ultralight backpacking.
Setup: Most one-man tents are relatively easy to set up, with a simple pole structure or even self-supporting designs. They are designed for quick and hassle-free assembly, which is important for solo campers.
Weather Resistance: These tents are designed to withstand a range of weather conditions, from mild summer nights to more challenging situations like rain and wind. Many one-man tents come with rainfly options and good ventilation to manage condensation.
Durability: Quality one-man tents are typically constructed from durable materials like ripstop nylon or polyester to ensure longevity in the outdoors.
Price Range: One-man tents vary in price depending on their features and quality. Entry-level models can be affordable, while high-end options with advanced materials and features may be more expensive.
Packability: One of the key advantages of these tents is their compact size when packed. They are designed to fit easily into a backpack, making them suitable for backpackers and hikers.
Seasonality: One-man tents are available in three-season and four-season variants.Three-season tents are suitable for spring, summer, and fall camping, while four-season tents are designed for winter camping and harsh conditions.
Vestibule and Storage: Some one-man tents come with vestibules or storage areas to keep gear dry and protected from the elements. These are particularly useful for storing backpacks, boots, and other equipment.
When choosing a one-man tent, it's important to consider your specific needs, the climate you'll be camping in, and your budget. The right one-man tent can provide a comfortable and secure shelter for solo outdoor adventures.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does your tent have a seam across the bottom of the floor? Does it leak at the seam |
Answer: | Mine does not have a seam across the bottom (that would be weird). It doesn’t leak at the seams but the bathtub/floor part is not extremely water resistant. Every time I have gone camping with the alps tent it has rained heavily and everything that touches the ground gets damp. I’m not sure a footprint would make a big difference because rain water can just dribble in between the two. I just bought a nikwax sealant to see if I can improve it. |
Question: | Is it 3.5lbs with everything included (tent, poles, fly, stakes, etc |
Answer: | Specs might have changed over time. Here is what I received March 2017. You can probably leave some of this at home.1.9314 kg or 4.258 pounds includes everything except the external info card, rubber band around stakes, and clear plastic bag around poles (?easier for packaging?).By weight, in grams:Tent - 623, Rainfly - 541, Poles - 448.1, Stakes (x10) - 165, Carry bag - 64.3, Guys - 38, Shelf - 17.5, Pole bag - 14.2, Stake bag - 10.5, Patches - 9.8By weight, in ounces (converted from grams, rounded to 2 decimals):Tent - 21.98, Rainfly - 19.08, Poles - 15.81, Stakes (x10) - 5.82, Carry bag - 2.27, Guys - 1.34, Shelf - 0.62, Pole bag - 0.5, Stake bag - 0.37, Patches - 0.35 |
Question: | I see the pack weight but not dimensions. How big is this guy packed up |
Answer: | I put this tent in a Kelty 6 inch diam. x 12 inch compression bag. it will compress to 8 to 10 " I don't full compress it. Just to the width of my back pack. I stow the poles and pegs separate. |
Question: | What is the center height |
Answer: | The center height is how high it is in the middle. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this fit a queen size air mattress |
Answer: | While I have used this tent with a queen sized air mattress, it didn't really work. You cant zip the door shut along the bottom, and it takes up all of the floor space. If you are fine with that, then go for it. |
Question: | Is it actually only 2.8 pounds |
Answer: | Yes, it is. Actually I didn't have problem during TSA and I traveled with this tent under my seat. |
Question: | Which measurement is width across the front? Need to know if it will fit inside truck bed |
Answer: | A full sized American pickup truck, GMC Chevy, Dodge Ram, and Ford/Lincoln all have 48" between the wheel wells. A long bed, or full size bed, will measure 4' between the wheel wells X 8' in length. If you have the luxury of driving a truck right up to where you're setting up camp: sleep in the truck. Sleep in the cab. Get a camper shell. Get a tonneau cover, and sleep under the tonneau. Use the stake pockets on your bed rails, and improvise shelter with a tarp. Do I need to point out that since you have the luxury of a truck, by all means do not sleep on the ground? |
Question: | Can this be used on a porch or does it have to be pegged into the ground |
Answer: | My grandson "camped" in the living room . so yes it can be used without being pegged into the ground. |
