How do I pump this air bed? where is the pump

Answer:

I also have an ec155 that is showing signs of straining after 3.5 years (and regular maintenance/descaling). I saw this updated version and wondered what was better. It has the same 15 bap pump and stainless steel boiler-- also appears to have the same knob-driven functions. Looks like they upgraded the little arm that locks the filter in place when you tap out spent grounds (prior was plastic, this is a metal bar). Otherwise, looks almost identical.

I think we paid around 100 dollars for the Encore, which grinds our beans to an absolute perfect grind (just under #10 on the grinder adjustment) After fooling around with different beans and roasts, I surrendered and started buying the best espresso beans I know of, the Neapolitan Espresso whole beans from Mr Espresso in Oakland, California. This combination registers a perfect, and extremely smooth shot (s) every single time. The pucks literally fall out of the portafilter in to the knock box. No banging or other violence required. :) But the question is " Buy the 870 with a grinder or a 840 and get your own? If we had to do it all over, I'd get an even better Baratza grinder. They make one that grinds the amount by weight, so you always get exactly the right amount. The Baratza Setta 270 is about 400 bucks, but dang it, it has a small footprint and everyone says it is the shiznitz. (The best "by weight") grinder. At any rate, you should get a conical burr grinder, and if you want quality, stick with a Baratza or Breville grinder. You get what you pay for. In fact, as much as I love our Infuser, I already am planning to get a dual boiler so I don't have to wait for the machine to recharge before steaming milk. Is it an obsession? Maybe, but do I care? Heck no! Get a separate grinder, and an Infuser.

Answer:	I've been reading your answers and, I have a suggestion. You could try using velcro straps to get it tighter. You can purchase a roll of it at Home Depot for a few bucks. It's designed for using on tarps.

It's an inflatable pad, but a lot better than a foam pad of comparable dimensions.

Answer:	My grip isn't too good so I replaced the bag it came with with a stuff bag that was a little less challenging. The size didn't matter too much to me because I'm doing just car camping, not backpacking.

The material on new air mattresses will stretch when fully inflated during the initial few nights of sleeping, which will make it feel like it has lost air, when in reality, the inside only expanded slightly. This is completely normal, but certain air mattresses such as the SimplySleeper SS-49T, will stretch a lot less than others simply because of the type of material used. If you don’t want to wake up to find yourself sunken slightly, then you should fully inflate the air bed for an entire day or two without adding any weight on top, in order to allow the material to naturally stretch out.

Answer:	One side of that patch should have a peel off layer exposing an adhesive side. Stick it on when non inflated and let sit on then slowly inflate to test. Alternatively you can get rubber glue at bike shops/ auto shops commonly used for tire repair if it needs more reinforcement because its a bigger rip.

Answer:	I was just on the Appalachian trail in PA a few weeks ago overnight in 30° and it snowed about 5". I had this pad in my hammock with their matching mummy sleeping bag and it worked fine, the wind is what made me cold. The pad isn't insulated at all so any heat built up will be stripped away with a breeze in a hammock. An underquilt or reflectix between the hammock and pad will help a lot.
