Answer:	No, it is mylar with a reflective coating. The mylar alone--a plastic--might be recyclable depending on your area, but the reflective surface renders it non-recyclable. Better to reuse or repurpose it if no longer functional, e.g., cut a section to size as a ground tarp, waterproof liner for a backpack, etc.
Question:	What (easy) knot would be appropriate for tying this to a tree
Answer:	A two half hitch knot on one end that keeps it secure to one tree. The other side should be a taut line hitch knot, as it is adjustable and can pull the slack "taut". Most rope/lines will stretch a little bit after installation and the tent will sag. The taut line will allow you to address that and easily snug it up again.
Question:	How does it hold the heat in if both ends are open
Answer:	It doesn't hold heat, it reflects it. It prevents heat from being lost to wind, and more importantly water (rain, sleet, snow). It wil not hold heat, it will slow down heat loss by using the heat you produce and reflecting it back on you. It is meant to keep you from becoming hypothermic if stuck outdoors overnight. You can produce your own heat (eat and digest food, make a fire, boil water), but if your day hike goes bad and you are stuck out overnight, this is an emergency shelter. Set it up in a sheltered area to prevent wind from blowing through the ends.

Answer:	No, the tent does not include loops for stakes. Our tents are designed to be used in survival situations only, not to replace your camping tent. If you prefer to use pegs instead of rocks or gear to pin down the corners, you can create loops by inserting the stake through the mylar and then reinforcing the area with tape. However, this may compromise the strength of the mylar, so it is not recommended.
Question:	how small is the tent when folded up
Answer:	It will fit in your hand . . . but it is really for bad times. It is a tube tent, meaning that neither end is sealed, but is open, and there are no poles to support it. You'll need 2 trees or some other means to support the corded roof line. Survival probably, but not for pleasure.

Answer:	It is open on both ends. Since the tent is 8 feet long, there is enough mylar material that you can use the included paracord to tie one end shut and use as a large 2-person emergency bivy. This is how we suggest using the shelter when there are no trees or suitable objects to tie up the paracord for use as a tent.

Some blankets (not Swiss Safe Brand) have a matte finish, which does not offer reflective signaling at all.

Answer:	Hi - I have used these for years in various applications - so here's my answer - of course you could use it for a temporary blanket indoors - but, as the other guy said - it is a little noisy - but the real issue is that it is WATERPROOF - meaning that as you sit (even outdoors) your clothes will accumulate sweat/moisture and you'll get a little damp - normal body moisture can not move through this blanket as through a textile (cotton/polyester/etc) one - these work by reflecting (and retaining) body heat.

Answer:	Compared to similar mylar blankets, they are sturdier and longer lasting. However, they will puncture, and they will tear. They are not like regular blankets, not like tarps or similar things. They are not made for rough handling, but for heat and protection while sleeping or in emergency situations.
Question:	Would this work to put under a sheet in a crib to keep babies bed warm
Answer:	They do work for an outside feral cat I am caring for. I put a sheet under a blanket to keep cat warm and it is warm. but cat was scared of the the crunching sound. I used one blanket and it keeps you warm. I believe putting one under baby blanket would help keep baby warm.

Answer:	don't know the micron. it does have a mesh-like structure, almost like ripstop. it is light and durable. thicker than what foil balloons are made of but thinner and more flexible than tinfoil. I have worn it in -30 F and its worked wonders.

Answer:	It will fit in your hand . . . but it is really for bad times. It is a tube tent, meaning that neither end is sealed, but is open, and there are no poles to support it. You'll need 2 trees or some other means to support the corded roof line. Survival probably, but not for pleasure.

Answer:	It is open on both ends. Since the tent is 8 feet long, there is enough mylar material that you can use the included paracord to tie one end shut and use as a large 2-person emergency bivy. This is how we suggest using the shelter when there are no trees or suitable objects to tie up the paracord for use as a tent.
