Question:	What is the purpose of the white plastic pipe
Answer:	The hose length is appx 15". Really too short to be practical because to use it, it has to be raised properly to stand under it. The one I got is totally useless, I got it as an "after Beach " dog rinse-off. The temperature doesn't work, nor does the solar heating work. It is just a bag of water with a spout.....think twice when buying.

Answer:	The flow rate is controlled by the head/nozzle. All the way out is "high", and not so far is slower. So, you have some control, but it's not precise. Note: this gets the water warm enough for a shower, but not "super hot" for sanitizing. (Of course out in the desert it may get hotter.)
Question:	How well will this work in cool to cold climates
Answer:	If there is strong sun not that long. It will get so hot that you almost have to be careful. In the colorado desert we left it out in the sun and the water was still plenty warm in the morning. I generally hang it from a strong tree branch.

Answer:	I wouldn't recommend it unless the manufacturer confirms that the pump has an internal pressure relief arrangement. It looks to be a diaphragm type positive displacement pump, similar to an aquarium air pump, working via a solenoid-operated piston moving a diaphragm back and forth. The diaphragm forms part of a chamber, which increases and decreases in size as the piston moves. There would be a non-return valve (probably a spring-assisted ball check valve) on both the chamber inlet and the chamber outlet. The diaphragm pump design allows complete separation of the working machinery from the pumped fluid, and they are generally designed so that the process fluid (water in this case) is not necessary for bearing lubrication or motor cooling. Being a positive displacement pump, it would move the same amount of water regardless of the back pressure it is pumping against. This means that if the pump is running and the hose outlet is closed with a valve on the shower head, the water still has to go somewhere, so the weakest point will fail (leak), e.g. the sealing gasket, the hose, or the pump diaphragm. If the weakest point happened to be the shower head immediately upstream of the valve, shrapnel from the resultant explosion, or being struck by the flailing hose, particularly if fitted with a metal ferrule or fitting, could cause a serious injury.The manufacturer would have assumed that the switch on the pump would be within reach during use, since the hose to the shower head is only 6.5' long. Incorporating a switch on the shower head would add significant cost, utility, and reliability issues to the product. It would require an electrical switch, an electrical cable along the length of the hose, which would be stiffened by the armour required to protect the cable from mechanical damage, and two cable glands (seals): one in the pump housing, and one in the shower head.

Answer:	I think it's about 7 feet, which was perfect for putting the pump part into a water bucket and hanging the showerhead above us in the shower tent. It's simplicity is what makes it so efficient for us.

Answer:	I hope the battery power gets weaker slowing down the run time of 5 gallons. I did several bench tests to see how quickly it drains a quart, starting with a full battery. After several times, it came to an average time of 16.5 seconds per quart. With a 5 gallon bucket at that rate it will only last 330 seconds (5 mins and 30 seconds). I plan to shut it on/off as needed.

How long can I shower?

Using a 2.5 gallon bucket of water, you can get approximately 7 to 8 minutes of use. This is plenty of time to wet, wash and rinse your hair and soap up and rinse off your body. A helpful tip is to turn off the device while you’re actively washing. This allows you to conserve more water and energy. If you use a 5-gallon bucket with this method, you’ll likely have over 10 minutes of continuous use.

How do I charge it?

While at home, simply plug the USB cord (included) into the unit and into a USB compatible device such as a laptop or computer. If your wall outlet has an integrated USB charger, that’s even better. If you’re on the road, you’ll need a 12V USB car adapter (not included), which plugs into your cigarette lighter for easy charging while camping, at the beach, on vacation or at the park.

How big is it?

From the pump to the shower handle, you’ll have approximately 5.9 feet of flexible hose to move about. The entire unit spans nearly 6.5 feet, so that’s plenty of distance to hang it from an existing indoor shower curtain rod or high above your head from the branch of an outdoor tree. Still, remember that the entire device is compact and lightweight, so it stows comfortably in your backpack without worry.
