Question:	What is the purpose of the white plastic pipe
Answer:	The hose length is appx 15". Really too short to be practical because to use it, it has to be raised properly to stand under it. The one I got is totally useless, I got it as an "after Beach " dog rinse-off. The temperature doesn't work, nor does the solar heating work. It is just a bag of water with a spout.....think twice when buying.

Answer:	The flow rate is controlled by the head/nozzle. All the way out is "high", and not so far is slower. So, you have some control, but it's not precise. Note: this gets the water warm enough for a shower, but not "super hot" for sanitizing. (Of course out in the desert it may get hotter.)
Question:	How well will this work in cool to cold climates
Answer:	If there is strong sun not that long. It will get so hot that you almost have to be careful. In the colorado desert we left it out in the sun and the water was still plenty warm in the morning. I generally hang it from a strong tree branch.

Answer:	I wouldn't recommend it unless the manufacturer confirms that the pump has an internal pressure relief arrangement. It looks to be a diaphragm type positive displacement pump, similar to an aquarium air pump, working via a solenoid-operated piston moving a diaphragm back and forth. The diaphragm forms part of a chamber, which increases and decreases in size as the piston moves. There would be a non-return valve (probably a spring-assisted ball check valve) on both the chamber inlet and the chamber outlet. The diaphragm pump design allows complete separation of the working machinery from the pumped fluid, and they are generally designed so that the process fluid (water in this case) is not necessary for bearing lubrication or motor cooling. Being a positive displacement pump, it would move the same amount of water regardless of the back pressure it is pumping against. This means that if the pump is running and the hose outlet is closed with a valve on the shower head, the water still has to go somewhere, so the weakest point will fail (leak), e.g. the sealing gasket, the hose, or the pump diaphragm. If the weakest point happened to be the shower head immediately upstream of the valve, shrapnel from the resultant explosion, or being struck by the flailing hose, particularly if fitted with a metal ferrule or fitting, could cause a serious injury.The manufacturer would have assumed that the switch on the pump would be within reach during use, since the hose to the shower head is only 6.5' long. Incorporating a switch on the shower head would add significant cost, utility, and reliability issues to the product. It would require an electrical switch, an electrical cable along the length of the hose, which would be stiffened by the armour required to protect the cable from mechanical damage, and two cable glands (seals): one in the pump housing, and one in the shower head.

Answer:	I think it's about 7 feet, which was perfect for putting the pump part into a water bucket and hanging the showerhead above us in the shower tent. It's simplicity is what makes it so efficient for us.

Answer:	I hope the battery power gets weaker slowing down the run time of 5 gallons. I did several bench tests to see how quickly it drains a quart, starting with a full battery. After several times, it came to an average time of 16.5 seconds per quart. With a 5 gallon bucket at that rate it will only last 330 seconds (5 mins and 30 seconds). I plan to shut it on/off as needed.

Answer:	Yes (zipper), actually it's a good idea at night because the dew will drip on the seat below, unless you use the rain cover. The vent works good during the day letting the heat out bringing cool air in under the door like a chimney. Tip, if you hang a light pointing down from the middle top you won't get any shadows. You're invisible.

Answer:	As a former 22 year soldier that used this in Iraq, Afghanistan, Colorado, and New York, in summer and winter it works great. HOWEVER!... Get a Styrofoam old fashion cooler and put the solar shower in it after you fill it. Less water is better to heat faster and stay warmer. Do not expose this container to the winter elements (outside) because the water will freeze. Rather put it in a vehicle so that it is facing the sun. The inside of you vehicle will be warmer and the wind won't effect it when it blows. Depending on how cold the temp is outdoors the water will take longer or shorter to heat up. Don't expect bath water because it will be around 60 degrees tops when the weather outside is 35-40. PS, don't drink the water out of this container like the instructions state. There's poisons in the rubber and depending on how much you drink you'll get sick. (One idiot soldier did that and he went to the medic station)

Answer:	i would strongly recommend both. Most local/major hardware stores have test strpps that you just dip in for the recommended time and then compare that to the package to evaluate chemical needs. Tarp little bigger than the pool is a good idea for a cover.

Answer:	It does not hold water. The water is in a separate container. We use a 5gallon plastic bucket.

Answer:	This unit is a propane heater, meaning, the propane is what heats the unit to heat the coils that heat the water. You do need electricity to start the unit and make it work, to use the propane to heat the water. Just turning it on with electricity will not start any mechanisms to heat water as this is not an electric water heater.
Question:	Almost all propane heaters have an altitude limitation, usually 6500 feet. What does the manual say about alititude
Answer:	I don’t know what the manual says, but we used it in the Sierras last summer at 7,388 feet of altitude for all of our 12 day vacation with at least 2 to 5 showers per day with no problems.
