Answer:	I think these are for either right or left hand use...

Answer:	To sharpen the blades I would use what they call a wet stone. I wouldn't use sand paper. Also before we sharpened them in class we just polished them on the polishing stone. Sometimes only polishing them helps

Answer:	Primarily used for hand chiseling & carving; however, I use a small a light weight "round" wood mallet, 1-3/4 to 2" dia head, O/A length 6-7" , using gentle tapping for some chiseling tasks. Also, a small 1-1/2" dia face rawhide mallet--- I bought one, and shortened the handle---better control with a shorter handle, to fit in the palm of my hand---it suffices nicely. Sometimes, I do chiseling into hardwood material, and need to so some light hammering---a mallet functions nicely for such tasks. "Heavy hammering" will damage the handle. .

Question:	How does this work for avalanche/ emergency snow shoveling
Answer:	It is made of plastic, but pretty tough, I used it to move and level loose dirt after I used a tiller to loosen the dirt, it worked pretty good. You have to hold the handle at the level you want to carry the amount of what ever you're moving, it won't dig, just good for moving loose material

Awesome shovel! Mine came a couple of days ago and I've already used it to shovel holes in hard soil for several hours straight (helping a friend plant a peach orchard). The blade is beefy and sharp (but not too sharp to have out around kids) and you can really step down on it to get it to bite, and took on the handle to lever out dirt. Folds up small but isn't feather weight.

This thing is pretty dang cool. I've looked around for a long while now for some kind of packable shovel. It is very sturdy, looks great and packs away nicely.
