User questions & answers

Question: Dishwasher Safe
Answer: I don't have a dishwasher so I can't answer this from personal experience. However, they seem to be made of quality glass and while they might easily break if knocked around by other items I don't see any reason the dishwasher process itself would do them any damage.
Question: Just ml measurements or ounces, too
Answer: Just ml, and remember they are "approximate",
Question: What is the max using temperature these beakers can stand
Answer: I am not sure of the exact temperature. But I know they can withstand a flame being applied to them. Just don't go from extreme hot to cold or vice versa. If using a flame, use a clean burning fuel or you will get a nasty black residue on the bottom. Hope that helps. I'm just going to throw out a ballpark guess and say, 500 degrees F.
Question: What are the height and diameter measurements
Answer: These are the outside measurements. 50ml=45mm dia X 59mm H. 100ml=52mm dia X70mm H. 250ml =70mm dia X99mm H.

Product description

BECKER centers on the life of Dr. John Becker, a cantankerous, yet dedicated and talented physician, who, in spite of his constant rants, has a decent heart underneath the sarcasm. BECKER will continue to unleash his views at the local diner, even in Reggie’s continuing absense. Jake (Alex Desert), the blind proprietor of the local newsstand continues to turn a deaf ear to John. Bob, Becker’s brash, obnoxious apartment super (Saverio Guerra), persists in annoying virtually everyone. At the office, Becker’s head nurse Margaret (Hattie Winston) continues to make order out of chaos, keeping John and his space-cadet nurses-aid Linda (Shawnee Smith) in line. New to the neighborhood is Chris Konnors (Nancy Travis), Becker’s new neighbor, with whom he must contend on a daily basis. Although her positive attitude is a major annoyance to Becker, he slowly begins to have feelings for her. John Becker is a cynical Harvard Medical School graduate who is somewhat of a loner and has trouble letting people get close to him. He looks at the world around him and feels society has gone mad - full of inconsistencies and just plain backward thinking. Although he is a diagnostician by trade, Becker feels he can dispense diagnoses even when no one asks. He has no qualms about saying what comes to mind, never sugarcoats his opinions and often seems to offend somebody nearby. However, his friends and colleagues recognize the heart beneath the hate and so accept his gruff demeanor for what it is.

"Aren’t doctors supposed to be nice?" Running for six seasons, Becker broke the Cheers curse (RIP: Good Advice, Inc, Pearl). The role of Dr. John Becker was just what the doctor ordered for Ted Danson. Becker is, according to those who know, and grudgingly admire him, best, "a miserable human being" and "such an ass," but "a brilliant one." As for his bedside manner, he makes House seem like Marcus Welby. But this being a sitcom, the cynical and politically incorrect Becker also must have a heart. In the pilot episode, it is revealed that he will secretly pay for treatments for an HIV-positive seven-year-old. "You may go to heaven whether you like it or not," his chief of staff Margaret (Hattie Winston) tells him. Becker divides his time between his chaotic clinic and the local diner, where he alienates the patrons with his tirades on subjects ranging from Jerry Springer to reality shows. In its promising first season, there’s nothing wrong with Becker that sharper writing can’t cure. The first season suffers slightly from Night Court-itus; the gritty urban setting glimpsed in the show’s interstitials undercut by the broadly-drawn character types who are either Becker’s patients, or simply try his patience, like his flaky new nurse’s assistant (Shawnee Smith) or on the make diner (as opposed to lounge) lizard Bob (Saverio Guerra). Much better company are Jake (Alex Desert), the blind diner newsstand vendor, and "Reggie" (Terry Farrell), a gives-as-good-as-she-gets gal in the mold of Frasier’s Roz. Becker and Reggie aren’t exactly Sam and Diane, but this season sets the stage for romantic possibilities (although the season finale, in which he wrestles with whether to ask her to a formal charity benefit, is anti-climactic). As the season unfolds, Becker more closely examines the good doctor’s misanthropy. One of the season’s better episodes is "Becker the Elder," featuring Dick van Dyke as Becker’s estranged salesman father, who is as charming as Becker is abrasive. In "Activate Your Choices," we meet Becker’s ex-wife, who has written a self-help book in which she diagnoses Becker as "Angry Man." There are no spoonfuls of sugar (extras) to help the medicine go down, but for those who made an appointment to see Danson and company every week, the DVD release of Becker is good for what ails you. --Donald Liebenson

Product description

This all-tan harpoon point Becker knife features a matching polymer sheath.

  • Blade length: 4.56 in
  • Overall length: 9.375 in
  • Blade material: 1095 Cro-Van
  • Handle material: Ultramid
  • Kydex sheath

User questions & answers

Question: Can the sheath be reversed for left-handed carry
Answer: YES IT CAN BE REVERSED. Very easily done by loosening the two countersunk nuts/bolts. Fantastic knife AND sheath as well. Greatest design since the KaBar itself
Question: How can a techlock be attached to the sheath
Answer: Plenty of opening on sheath to add tecklock
Question: Scout carry
Answer: Horizontal... like you asked
Question: Can it be carried horizontally with the holster provided
Answer: Yes... you can carry it scout style.
Question: Can the sheath it comes with, be mounted horizontially on a belt
Answer: To state the obvious, the Piggyback does not come with a sheath. It's supposed to "piggy back" in the sheath for the Potbelly or Baconmaker. The Piggyback knife is being made available separately, as described. You are buying a knife without a sheath. There is, however, a thin plastic "sheath" for protection in shipping or storage, but certainly the manufacturer does not intend for this to be used for carrying--there's no belt clip. I bought the Piggyback to put in a lightweight backpacking mess kit and didn't need a sheath for carrying. It has been good for spreading peanut butter, cutting cheese, and even batonning wood; as well as cutting frozen meat. If you need a sheath, you have to make other arrangements.
Question: Will this fit in the extra compartment in the Ka-Bar Combat Kukri's sheath
Answer: I'm sorry, but I can't tell you for sure if it will fit that sheath. This knife is 6 inches long and 1 inch wide at the widest point. It fits in the extra compartment of the nylon sheath that came with my Ontario RAT-7. That's the only comparison I have for you. Hope this helps you.
Question: Will this fit the extra spot on a BK7 sheath
Answer: I'm sorry, I do not own a BK7, so I can not be of much help. This knife is about 6 inches long, an inch wide and maybe 1/8 inch thick. It fits in the sheath that came with my Ontario RAT-7, if that is any help.

KA-BAR Becker BK2 Campanion Fixed Blade Knife

KA-BAR

Based on 2 reviews Check latest price

Product description

For all those who camp, hunt or spend time afield. The Companion works just as happily splitting out kindling as it does prying apart joints and skinning game, not to mention chopping onions for the campfire chili!. Once you secure the knife in the sheath, there is a spot on the back of the sheath where you apply pressure with your thumb to release the knife. The knife locks into place for safety, so it doesn't fall out. This isn't a defect, the user has to apply pressure to a certain spot on the sheath so the knife can actually be removed from it.

Bring the KA-BAR Becker Companion Knife and Tool along on your next hunting or camping trip. This lightweight knife features a durable, 1095 cro-van steel blade, perfect for splitting kindling, skinning game, or chopping onions for the campfire grill. This knife features the drop point blade shape and a versatile 20-degree blade angle. The comfortable handle is made from Grivory, providing a balanced grip for any outdoor chore. The flat blade is five and a half inches long and the overall length is ten and a half inches. The knife includes a glass-filled nylon sheath to keep the blade safe and sharp. Made in the USA, the Companion knife and tool is tough enough to handle all your outdoor adventures.

User questions & answers

Question: I wear a xxl size glove. could anyone tell me if i could comfortably hold the grip of the bk
Answer: I wear XL gloves and have plenty of room on the handle. You’ll be fine
Question: I just got a new BK2 and noticed the Mfg. info is printed on the black coating and not stamped into the steel, is this a knock-off
Answer: KaBar got a laser engraver last year when the new BK16, BK15, BK17 came out. they started using that instead of rollstamping like they used to. It is a genuine KaBar/Becker product. It is still slightly in the metal...I strip all my Beckers and the three I have with the new laser etching still have visible markings afterwards. You can also use PCB etchant to make it deeper BEFORE you strip it. The ESEE guys have been doing that for years.ETA...they also started using a different style coating...textured black instead of smooth. the new coating is MUCH tougher then the old, looks better too. LOL I still strip it though
Question: How does it match up to the Sk-5 Blackbird survival knife
Answer: Blackbird is a better slicer, but it's not as thick as the BK2. Blackbird is my choice of blade between the two, based on superior metal and the way each knife handles. My SK5 did not come very sharp though, so if you're not a guy who can sharpen a knife into a scalpel, you might want to go BK2. However, I have never needed to resharpen my BK5 after getting the right edge on it. S30v steel is pretty awesome.
Question: is this a kydex sheath or nylon sheath. does the nylon sheath have a pocket
Answer: Everybody that keeps saying its kydex, its not it actually glass reinforced nylon wich looks and feels like nylon except its cheaper and dulls your blade overtime. I would recommend the bk22 wich is the same knife ecept it comes with a soft nylon sheath that has a built in pouch or an aftermarket sheath. I got an armatus carry sheath and I'm very happy with the both the knife and sheath.
