The body of the flask is commercially pure titanium (~99.9%), the lid is a ~95% titanium alloy with aluminum as the primary alloying element, and the connector was a high-chromium high-nickel stainless steel. So the wetted parts are all titanium. They must have performed bead-blasting or some similar surface finish to the connector, because it looks like titanium at first glance (slightly lighter shade if you look closely, though).

Answer:	Snow Peak is a Japanese company.Their products are high quality though, my only complaint about my titanium flask is that they put a finer threading on the lid than is necessary (so it takes a bit longer than normal to screw/unscrew the cap).

Answer:	The Snow Peak medium hip flask holds five (5) fluid ounces. BTW, as a test, I put 5 oz. (measured) of 100 proof vodka in it and left it for a month which was up last week. I could taste and smell no off-flavors, and the cap did not leak. Hence, I've decided it is "safe" to put bourbons in it. Snow Peak website says it is made in Japan, not China. I searched widely for info on the welds (wishing to avoid lead in case the contents sat in there for awhile) and found none indicating that they are lead. If you hear otherwise, please let us know.

Answer:	Grade 1. So by now you probably noticed that Keith titanium is probably the only seller that deals in grade one titanium camping accessories? Understand that grade 2 and grade 3 greatly experience titanium content degradation. Also sellers who use the term “titanium alloy” use even LESS of a titanium content. “Titanium alloy” is usually (IF you are lucky!) reserved for products 5% to 10% titanium. You can actually experience the “metallic taste” phenomena when using grade 2 and grade 3 titanium products. That’s why I use only Keith products. So until other sellers start selling grade 1 titanium (I am hoping sellers start selling selling grade 1 soon - so that there is a more competitive market in the grade 1 titanium products ), I’m pretty much only going to purchase from Keith.
