| Answer: | Once prepared and used, the mantles are ash. How long they last is completely based on how the lantern is treated. Bumping and rattling is what kills the mantle, so they are usually broken during transport - to the car or during the drive. I has seen them last less than a day (boy scouts). Mine will last for months/years. I heard of one man who was using the same mantle 30 years later (I'm sure he wasn't related to MY family.....) I have found one trick, that works for me. Before I pack up the lantern (it's cold), I remove the globe and give several gentle coats of hair spray to the mantles. You can blow the mantle right off the lantern if you are not careful - GENTLE coats of hairspray. This helps firm the mantle and then just burns off on next lighting. But, it's always good to duct tape an extra set of mantles on the bottom of the lantern. Just my opinion. Good Luck! |

From what I gather, if you have Bluetooth 4.0, you should be good. However, every system is different and the amount of "massaging" to get this keyboard to work will probably vary greatly. But I think for best results: Bluetooth 4.0 + Windows 10 = no headaches. Also, on a "cool" note, I was able to pair this keyboard to my iPhone 6 Plus with no problems-works great for any typing situation on my smartphone: email, text messages, internet search, etc. Of course, it IS a Microsoft keyboard meant for Windows, so there are no handy iOS shortcuts. |
