10 best butanes
Butane is a flammable hydrocarbon gas that is commonly used as fuel in various outdoor and portable applications, particularly in camping stoves, grills, and other outdoor cooking equipment. Here's what you need to know about butane in the context of camping and outdoor activities:
Camping Stoves: Butane is often used as a fuel source for camping stoves. These stoves are designed for outdoor cooking and are popular among campers, hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts. Butane-powered stoves are favored for their ease of use and portability.
Fuel Canisters: Butane fuel is typically stored in small, portable canisters. These canisters are pressurized and sealed to keep the butane in a liquid state. They are easy to transport and connect to camping stoves, making them a convenient choice for outdoor cooking.
Clean-Burning Fuel: Butane is considered a clean-burning fuel, which means it produces relatively fewer emissions and residues compared to other fuels like wood or liquid fuels. This makes it a suitable choice for cooking in natural environments, where minimizing environmental impact is important.
Ease of Ignition: Butane stoves are known for their ease of ignition. They often feature built-in ignition systems, so users can light the stove without the need for matches or lighters. This convenience is especially valuable in outdoor conditions.
Temperature Control: Butane stoves generally provide good temperature control, allowing users to adjust the flame intensity to achieve the desired cooking temperature. This feature is crucial for preparing a variety of meals while camping.
Portability: Butane camping stoves are compact and lightweight, making them easy to carry in a backpack. This portability is essential for campers and hikers who need to conserve space and weight.
Disposable vs. Refillable Canisters: Butane canisters used for camping stoves are available in both disposable and refillable options. Disposable canisters are convenient but need to be replaced when empty. Refillable canisters can be refilled with butane fuel, reducing waste and cost in the long run.
Safety Precautions: While butane is generally safe to use, it's essential to follow safety precautions when handling butane-powered equipment. This includes proper storage of fuel canisters, ensuring the stove is on stable ground, and using the stove in well-ventilated areas.
Availability: Butane canisters are widely available at outdoor and camping supply stores, making it easy for campers to purchase fuel for their stoves.
In summary, butane is a popular fuel choice for camping stoves and outdoor cooking equipment. It is valued for its clean-burning properties, ease of ignition, temperature control, and portability. Campers and outdoor enthusiasts often rely on butane-powered stoves to prepare meals while enjoying the great outdoors.

About Ronson
Ronson was founded as Art Metal Works in Newark, NJ in 1886 by Louis V. Aronson. The company manufactured various decorative metal wares including bookends, paperweights, desk sets, lamps, miniatures, and other metal crafted items. Due to customer demand, Aronson began to explore the flame market and began manufacturing lighters in the early 1900s.
In 1910 Aronson was granted a patent for a spark producing ignition system named the 'Pist-o-liter' and in 1913 manufactured a pocket lighter named the 'Wonderlite'. In 1928, Ronson secured a patent for the revolutionary single-action 'Banjo' lighter, which offered both ignition and extiguishment in a single push. Through the decades Ronson continued to develop several styles of pocket, multi-purpose, and torch style lighters as well as accessories including lighter fluid, butane, and flints.
Today, Ronson is a member of the Zippo Manufacturing Company family of brands. Acquired in 2010, Zippo Manufacturing Company acquired substantially all of the assets of Ronson Consumer Products Corporation, Woodbridge, NJ, and Ronson Corporation of Canada Ltd.; and certain related assets of Ronson Corporation. The product line continues to be marketed and sold in the United States and Canada under the Ronson name at retailers.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this work with cooking torches |
Answer: | I'd say it depends on how many ingredients need to be listed on each label and the font/print size. These would work if layout was sized to fit. |
Question: | how many times can I fill a single lighter with one can |
Answer: | I have used the 2x4 sticker on mailer envelopes and they seem to stick well. However, just to be sure, I always put clear packing tape over the address label to make sure it doesn't get removed in mailing. The 2x4 I have found to be of adequate size for mailing any size package. I have used them for years and have no "cons" for them at all. |
Question: | Will this only fill Zippo brand lighters |
Answer: | No, you just run a Google search for the Avery product number. Once you have found it, you just download the template to your computer. It will open via Word. Then, type in address or whatever info you need, and hit print. |
Question: | Is Zippo butane fuel triple filtered |
Answer: | Most commercially available ink pens should write on these labels without any problem. Some inks may need longer to dry than others before they can be touched without smearing. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this brand have a long or short nozzle |
Answer: | Yes, and they are really great. Much better than Bic and such. |
Question: | week delivery is this. Joke |
Answer: | Yes. |
Question: | Does this come with tip adapters |
Answer: | That is incorrect. The minis are refillable. The hard to find part is actually the flint. It is smaller than standard and almost impossible to find. |
Question: | How tall are the cans |
Answer: | It pulls straight out. A bit tight for sure. Sometimes I use long nose pliers to pull it out. Makes it quick and easy. Also use the pliers to unscrew the part that holds in the flint. Using a slot screwdriver will work only a few times as the slot wears out. Goes back in only one way. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Which size of butane needs to be used? 48 or 78gram? Thank you |
Answer: | I didn't need any additional wiring when I replaced mine. It was just swapping the old part for the new one. |
Question: | Is it preloaded |
Answer: | Not for sure, but if I was to take a guess I would say yes. I bought one of these switches for my car and it is working just fine but the problem was NOT the switch, it was the wiring, it shorted out at the plug that goes into the switch causing me to loose one of my bright lights. If this sounds familiar check your wiring. |
Question: | What size butane refill does this use |
Answer: | Not that I know of. It might also be called a combined turn signal and headlight switch. |
Question: | Has anyone used this for Epoxy |
Answer: | Yes, the RE00R can be used for multi-location control with the REL06. Please refer to the instrucion sheets for further information regarding wiring. David Keller Leviton Vice President, e-Business |

User questions & answers
Question: | With the lid open, and torch not being used, will the butane leak out |
Answer: | I doubt it, but I don’t notice any fragrance when I empty out the dishwasher. I don’t like fragrance in cleaning products/laundry detergent etc., so I would have noticed a strong fragrance. |
Question: | Has anyone else bought this insert for a thyrm case? my case won't close with the single flame insert. buyers beware |
Answer: | they are completely individual "balls" which come directly out of the box into your dishwasher. They are great. No mess, no measuring, out of box, into dishwasher. |
Question: | Does it include zippos lifetime warranty |
Answer: | My bet would be "NO", it's not mold. The tabs are each sealed in plastic to prevent them from getting damp. I've never experienced a problem with mine, even purchasing them in bulk, I use every one. Of course, I can't tell you anything scientific, just my own opinion. I'll be happy to take a look at mine today and see. Barbara |
Question: | My zippo is filled with fluid and will not light unless I use another flame to light it. Thoughts |
Answer: | Not sure about Aluminum. But the All Clad stainless steel cookware does OK every once in a while, but the copper doesn't like dishwashers. And the All Clad cookware company doesn't recommend dishwashers. At least this product(non-gel) was better tolerated than Cascade on my cookware. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this stove big enough to hold a donabe |
Answer: | Yes. It easily holds a donabe large enough for 4-6 people. It could potentially hold more, but I have not tested it at that size yet. It puts out head adequate to pretty quickly bring the liquid to a boil and holds a simmer well. Make sure to start with the flame fairly low as I cracked a clay pot on the first use by starting at the highest setting. The pot cracked even though it was full of liquid prior to going on the heat. |
Question: | Where is the country of origin |
Answer: | This one is made in Japan and the quality is awesome!! |
Question: | at almost 4 times the cost of those $20 butane stoves, is this Iwatani stove safer than those cheap stoves |
Answer: | This Iwatani stove is the best of all portable butane stove. I cook very fast and it will use all the butane gas not like other butane stove. The butane is on the top of the heat metal plate. It definitely help to get the max out of the butane gas inside container. I have at least 2 x 12000 BTU and 4 x 15000 BTU portable butane stove at home. You never regret to buy this stove at all. |
Question: | Do the GasOne Butane cans work with the Iwatani stove? The Iwatani fuel is much more expensive. Is the GasOne as safe and does it work well |
Answer: | Gas One canisters work just as well, but they're not as safe. Iwatani cans have CRV (explosion-proof) construction, but Gas One do not. However, are many inexpensive brands that do have CRV. I recently paid $5 (on sale) for a 4-pack of CRV cans at the local asian market (they're usually $6). |
