Answer:	If it does, try your best to not clean it off. I know there is a compulsion to do it because it's messy and gets everywhere but keeping the soot on the outside of the pots greatly improves the performance of the pots and the stove because it absorbs and retains heat better and thus uses less fuel and shorter burn times.

Answer:	It is not recommended to use inside for any prolonged period. Alcohol still produces carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide when burned. It is a safer fuel with regard to fumes, but there are several types of fuel that can be used and some produce more toxic fumes than others. Ventilation is highly recommended. The other issue you have is anytime you use liquid fuels, spills can be a fire hazard. If you overfill the stove with fuel it can sputter and spit burning fuel as well. I recommend outdoor use, or very good ventilation.
