Answer:	This screws onto a small gas canister, which does need to set fairly level so your pot doesn’t tip off. But you should be able to set it onto a rock, log or flat ground to cook with it. Depending on what type of camping you are doing (backpacking vs car camping, for example) you can buy a little camp table or just use what’s at hand.

Question:	Will an Trangia alcohol stove fit with this stove
Answer:	The differance is in the jets. I mostly use white gas but you can run gasoline if you need to in the whisperlite but with the proper jets you can also run kerosene or diesel. Other than missing the jet for heavier fuel they are identical as long as you have a shaker model. This said if I were buying a new one I would get the universal as it can burn anything the international can aswell as use gas canister

Answer:	The flame is adjustable, as is the one on the international, but has very rapid progression from off to high. Once you get it lit and running, try extremely slowing turning the knob toward off and watch flame and you should be able to adjust the flame

Answer:	Your bottle size is, of course, dependent on how much you're using the stove (how many meals/how much water being boiled/how many people using, etc), but typically the 30oz. bottle is used for weekend groups or a week-long trip for 2 people. The smaller size is preferable for overnights or a week trip for 1-2 people where the stove isn't seeing a lot of use (maybe 1 meal per day)

Answer:	If you read the documentation and view the pictures you will see that the "wood" is a actually a fuel stick like the other items for use with the stove. Reason I would suppose is that if you were to use natural wood that you could not put enough in it to cook with as it would not last nearly as long, or give you enough heat to even boil water. So the fuel sticks enables you to do that and overcomes the weakness of not being able to hold enough natural wood for cooking.
Question:	Does this burn hotter than a can of sterno
Answer:	Yes this stove can be used with an alcohol burner (especially a pop-can stove or a burner of like size) and it can also be used as a wood burning stove. Both of these methods are way better than the crappy fuel tablets in my opinion.

Answer:	Sterno is Methol-Ethol-Alcohol blend. Cogans Camp Heat is Diethylene Glycol based gel. Both serve the purpose, seem to produce similar BTUs, but I feel the Cogans (for me) seems to burn longer per can. Be aware both are TOXIC if injested. Believe that Sterno "Oil" was for candles (?) You'll have to check suitability as a cookin' / heat source.
Question:	Can you use this on a charcola grill
Answer:	If the room is well ventilated it will be fine.

Answer:	Yes and no. All "Green Label" Sterno and off brand products burns hotter than regular Sterno. The regular Sterno is for chafing dishes, and keeping food warm. The green label is hotter and is for cooking.

Answer:	To start with I find these childproof lighters very difficult to use because of the configuration of the switches. I only have experience with it on a propane stove. When you turn the stove knob on propane streams out and is ignited by the spark. I don't know how a alcohol stove works. The lighter probably would work if when you turn the knob on a alcohol stove a stream of propellant is emitted to be ignited by the spark.

Answer:	I cannot say if it is okay to take on an airplane, but it is so inexpensive order a couple and have them shipped to where ever you are going. I bought this for thru hiking the Appalachian Trail but it is too heavy so my BBQ now has a fire igniter that will last for a couple of years. And I agree with M. H. Hughes, why try to fight TSA, you will lose for a couple of dollars.

Answer:	This item has a chrome grill that can be seasoned for cooking . However, due to being suspended , it may not be practical to cook with .
Question:	Do you use the flame directly from this disc or do you also need to add wood? Looking for something to do a simple firepit verson of heat & S'mores
Answer:	Yes and no. Depending which side is facing up, there may be a little lip around the edge made of the same gauge bars as the grates are made of. However, the cooking grate can swing through a wide range of motion unless your food is perfectly centered, and the lip wouldn't keep anything on. Once something slides to the side, the grate is going to tip up in the opposite direction. If you aren't careful, you can easily dump everything in the fire.Having said that, I love this thing though. There are a couple of tricks. One, make sure you have a cooking mitt, heavy glove, and/or barbecue tongs. Two, if you have a cast iron skillet, put that on the grate and cook on that rather than directly on the grate. The weight keeps the grate from wanting to swing so much, and the handle of the skillet gives you a way to control the movement of the grate. Thus the need for the mitt or glove. Three, if you are cooking directly on the grate, stabilize the grate with a pair of barbecue tongs or something similar in one hand, while cooking with the other.It works really well once you get the hang of it, and it's lots of fun.
