The handles are solid beech (the auxiliary handle included can be used for a two-man version if needed), and the teeth can be re-sharpened with a large triangular file.

If you're not using the pole sections that it comes with, then if you're using, say, a wooden pole, then you'd have to drill holes through the handle and secure it with wood screws, otherwise the saw won't securely stay on the wooden pole when you pull on it. Why wouldn't you just use the pole sections that it comes with?
