Answer:	Yes. Adult and children. My bike frame is different than my husbands, my bike sits differently but is secure.

Answer:	It depends on how you attach the rack. The bottom hook can be placed either on the bottom of the bumper, which would prohibit you from opening the trunk, or you can hook it on the bottom of the trunk, which will allow you to access the trunk when the bikes are removed.
Question:	Just received and has a lot of play up and down and to sides. Anyone have experience with this
Answer:	I think someone could most likely just steal it right off the car. You could wrap a different strap from the bottom to the top of the bike rack through the inside of your car if you were worried about theft.
Question:	does this rack hold a women's bikes
Answer:	Bikes with a non-horizontal top tube are all a bit different with their angles, so you have to move the bike around and see what works. Suffice it to say, your wheels will not be equidistance from the ground, but if the bike is stable, it is stable. Some newer bikes with shocks also have nontraditional top tubes. One good alternative is to spend a little bit of money and have a hitch attached to the car. I have a small hatchback. With a hitch, I can use a bike rack with wheel holders.

Answer:	The product info says 39.1 lbs. It seems at least that and is fairly unwieldy.
Question:	Does anyone have a good secure locking system for the bikes
Answer:	We use our bike locks thru the bike wheels, bike frame and thru the mount . The only problem is that you must use the threaded pin that comes with the rack to secure the rack in the receiver hitch... Wish I could use the lock I have for the rest of my trailers/etc to secure the whole thing to the truck.

Answer:	There is not a locking system for the bikes. The bikes are kept securely in place by the vertical bar with removable braces at the top. The bar will not fold down without the hitch key lock but the bikes could be removed by lifting over this bar. An additional bike lock would be recommended.
Question:	Can you buy the 2-bike rack and then an add-on for
Answer:	You can buy the four set up and then only assemble the first half (2) until you want to connect the second half later in life.

Answer:	The poles are metal and rust at the joints. The arm at the top mighty be available from the Perky Pets website. They're very responsive to customer queries. Good luck...

Answer:	You can screw the flange shown to the bottom of the bird house. The flange then fits tightly onto the pole. That is how I mounted my bird house. I only used 3 of the 4 pole sections because I drilled a hole in an old stump rather than put a hole in the ground. The pole is a nice heavy weight I am pleased with it and would definitely buy it again.
Question:	Will it let me open the trunk door on a dodge caravan
Answer:	The description at the Amazon site is accurate. There is a sleeve that you put in the ground by digging a hole and then packing the earth around it.The pole fits into the sleeve. The pole is 7 ft. long. About 1 ft goes into the sleeve in the ground. The top of the pole is about 6 ft. off the ground. When you hang something from it, as I hung a hummingbird feeded, it hangs down to about 5 ft. off the ground.

About Allen Bike Racks

In 1967, after a few years of working on the aerospace technology for the Apollo missions, Dick Allen was out of a job. Government cutbacks led Allen, a Harvard-trained physicist, to transform his garage hobby into a new industry. A cycling enthusiast, inventor, and family man, Allen had a personal need for a bike-carrying device. On weekends, he would take his sons and wife to Cape Cod or the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Answer:	Nate, I can’t really answer which filter is better as that is a matter of opinion but according to the Brita site, the water bottle filters are effective in removing chlorine taste and odor as well as filtering class VI particulates. Class VI particulates are >50 microns in size. Hope this helps.
Question:	Does it fold
Answer:	It doesn't have an exact expiration date. However, I bought this for my 13 yr old daughter. She drinks alot of room temperature water. (I'd say minimum of 6 bottles per day if not more) Because she drinks so much, I replace her filter every 45 days. I think it depends on how much water u think you'd drink daily. On average it can be used about 3 months before being changed out. I hope this helps!

Question:	Anybody try this on a 2006 Ford Escape? I'm having trouble tightening the bottom strap
Answer:	Since no one has answered your question I'll take a shot at it. There may have a few causes for "... trouble tightening the bottom strap" assuming it means the rack is not snug, . Make sure the strap is threaded correctly through the buckle so it will grip, not slip when tightened and tie it off around the strap as further assurances it will not slip. The bottom strap may loosen up when the bike is put on the rack so either apply some downward force on the rack or put the bike on the rack before tightening the bottom strap.
Question:	Will this fit my 2019 Toyota Camry sedan
Answer:	Yes, as long it doesn’t have a foil. Go to Allen Sports web site look up theUltra Compact Folding 1 and it will show all vehicles that are compatible.
Question:	if my bike weighs a little more than 35lb, around 38lb for example, will the rack work? will the pedal scratch my car
Answer:	yes, I don't see the 3lbs as an issue at all. Install so the weight is evenly distributed. As far as the pedals, my bike does not scatch, the mount offsets the pedals.
Question:	Are there any scratches resulting from this bike rack? I see there are metal hooks that hook the top of the trunk and underneath the... car? Thank you
Answer:	The hooks are coated with a resin that seems like a semi-hard polyester. You can also put some electrical tape on them to soften the touch. I haven't had any scratching, but if I were driving my brand new $445,000 Lamborghini instead of my 10 year old $6000 Ford Escape, I might hesitate to use this rack.

Dick Allen (pictured left in 1972) started Allen Sports in his garage in 1967. Question:	Will a 1/2 inch or 5/8 hitch pin lock (such as the one Amazon lists as frequently purchased with this carrier) work with this
Answer:	The 1/2" OEM pin goes all the way through the carrier's tongue. The tongue's pin hole is threaded on both sides but the thread will only go in about 1/2 -3/4" or so. You could drill out the 1/2" hole to 5/8" but that may void the warranty. I tried Mac's suggestion. A 1/2" eyebolt only goes into the hitch about a half inch. I would think a bolt on the other side would be necessary. Mac's idea of using the eyebolt with long padlock is a good one, but I discovered that the hole where the cotter pin goes on the 1/2" pin is a little more than a 1/4" in diameter. A padlock with a 1/4" diameter shackle will fit in the hole perfectly. I used a MasterLock 4696D. The shackle appears quite robust and would take a bolt cutter to cut it. This installation secures my hitch to the carrier without any modification.
Question:	What is the measurement between the top of the hitch and the top of the bracket? Checking for clearance
Answer:	On my unit the distance between the top of the carrier tube at the hitch to the highest point on the carrier is 27.5 inches. That does not include the removable hold-down clamp. And for what it's worth, the vertical bar folds down, providing more than enough clearance for my Outback hatch to open.
Question:	What is the thread size of the lock bolt? i want to get a lockable lock bolt
Answer:	The thread size is 1/2"-13 (had a gauge and checked it out) . This was a shock, I thought it would be metric threads.
Question:	Will a fat tire fit
Answer:	a fat Mountain bike tire fits fine... but if you are referring to those REALLY fat tires that you ride on the beach, then, even though it will sit on the tire pedestal, it will not fit in it. You can secure it with a bungee cord and it should work.

Question:	what is the pin size
Answer:	The hole on the rack for the hitch pin is 1/2". This is designed to work with the No Wobble Bolt that is included with the rack. This bolt works to securely tighten the rack when installed on the vehicle and keeps the rack from moving during use.
Question:	how do you put a womens bike on this rack
Answer:	The brackets that the straps are attached to rotate around the rack arms, making it fairly easy once you figure out the best position. I actually had 3 women's bikes on the rack with no problems. The straps were on the diagonal bar and the vertical bar below the seat and it was very tight, no movement at all. No issues with women's bikes at all here.
Question:	What's the best way to lock bikes to this rack? I've never used a hitch rack before
Answer:	If you are talking about leaving the bikes, we purchased the doberman lock and secured the bikes and lock to the straight pole on back, we have two to interweave between the bike wheels and the pole. We also brought a locking pin for the hitch. Never had a problem, we have left them on there while down the shore, on bike trails while we walk or go to get something to eat.
Question:	What's the distance between the two carry arms (the ends of the arms
Answer:	On the current version (2016 and newer) hitch racks, the carry arms are 11.5" apart on center. This translates to an outside dimension of approximately 13"

Answer:	I’m not sure it does fit on my high liner

Answer:	Yes. I have done this. In fact, I had 2 of these on my car (one on each side for a total of 4 bikes), and a single bike one for my road bike, in between, for a total of 5 bikes on the roof. Not a problem at all.
Question:	How fast can I go on the highway with this
Answer:	I drove the speed limit (65 mph) for about 200 miles and had no problems with stability.
