Answer:	Mine have been washed at this point. But I measured one side to be right at 20 inches. The design appears to be 20 X 20.

Answer:	Yes they have held up in the machine wash!
Question:	Are these 1 layer or 2 layers
Answer:	I use it as 2 folded which is what it looks like in the pics. If you choose to use it as 1 layer it can cover most of your head.
Question:	What's the UV rating of this headband
Answer:	Not sure on uv rating. After washing them they are so difficult to fold and overlap again. I would not buy them again.
Question:	Will this fit over the ears to keep them protected from the wind? The pics look like this is supposed to be worn above the ears
Answer:	Depending on how big your ears are you most likely could cover most of them. As far as normal use I like them. The fit under my bike helmet well.
