Studio One 5
The original drag-and-drop interface.
Studio One pioneered the drag-and-drop workflow that continues to be a guiding principle in our design philosophy. Audio loops, virtual instruments, plug-in effects and even presets can all be dragged into your session from Studio One’s innovative Browser. Copy FX Chains from one channel to another simply by dragging and dropping. Convert MIDI to audio or audio to MIDI, just by drag and drop. New Clip Gain Envelopes let you polish performances or remove glitches with adding a plug-in to your effects chain. Ease of use is at the heart of Studio One, so you’ll work faster than ever before.
Composition done right.
Modern composers need tools that let them incorporate electronic elements with traditional scoring. The new Score View in Studio One merges the best features of PreSonus’ award-winning notation software, Notion, into Studio One 5. You can view multiple staves at once to work on voicing, or just one track at a time. Use the score symbol palette to change dynamics, add trills, tremolos, and more during playback. And you can pick your Musical Editor View per-track, so you can switch between the Score View, Drum View, and the conventional Piano Roll View to suit your needs on a per-track basis - or, look at the same note data in different Views all at the same time, offering a rare flexibility not often found in the digital audio world.
Produce without limits.
Forget laborious transposition, cutting, pasting, and moving when arranging. With Scratch Pads to test out arrangements, an Arranger track that makes moving sections of songs around as easy as moving Parts, and groundbreaking Harmonic Editing—the most flexible implementation ever—no other program can approach the ease of arranging and songwriting that Studio One 5 delivers. Inspiring virtual instruments and unique Multi Instruments let you create your own unique library of sounds. And with the brand new Aux Inputs, your hardware synths, drum machines, and groove boxes can become an easily-incorporated part of your production. So dust off that TX81Z or Portastudio and put them back to work.
Analog mixing with digital ease.
With a completely redesigned suite of effects plug-ins, Studio One 5 supercharges your mixing. Any plug-in with an input drive now features a State Space-modeled analog input drive stage to add just the right amount of grit and warmth when you need it. Studio One Professional’s unique Pipeline XT plug-in lets you use your beloved collection of boutique, vintage, and classic analog signal processors as easily as software plug-ins. The Channel Editor lets you create complex effects chains including the Splitter tool that lets you run multiple plug-ins in parallel on a single channel. Mix Engine FX support State Space models of classic analog consoles that affect your mix across channels on any bus, collectively. This isn’t a stereo bus plug-in, this is multi-source processing that creates vintage-inspired artifacts like true console crosstalk, analog noise, and input gain saturation.
Master mastering.
Studio One Professional is the only DAW that links songs and stems with finished, mastered Projects. Transfer mixes or mixed stems to the Project page for mastering—but if you hear anything you need to change, simply jump back into the Song and make your tweaks; the revised version updates with a single click so you can continue mastering without losing any previous work. Use Studio One Native Effects and your favorite third-party plug-ins to provide the final EQ, dynamics, and imaging control you need to create a professional sound. You’ll also find analysis tools, like spectrum analysis, M/S-processing, K-System, and EBU loudness metering, phase meter, expandable level meter, and oscilloscope to provide visual confirmation to what you hear, as well as help with conformance to existing broadcast and duplication standards. Apply processing to individual tracks or the entire collection, to take your masters to the next level.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the headphone jack on this for monitoring your inputs, or does your PC audio come through it aswell |
Answer: | Hi, You can monitor your inputs and listen to playback from your computer simultaneously, which allows you to create overdubs with next to zero latency. You can either choose to monitor the inputs using the Direct Monitor switch, or you can use the Input Monitor feature in your DAW. If using the Direct Monitor feature the input signal will be passed directly to the line and headphone outputs, whereas if you use the Input Monitor feature in your DAW, you will be hearing the audio you're recording back from your DAW. In either case, you can still hear any other audio playing back from your DAW at the same time as recording. Best regards, Laurence Clarke // Focusrite Technical Support |
Question: | What type of usb cable does this come with? is it a type-c to type-c or a type-c to type-a |
Answer: | Hi, This comes with a type-c to type-a cable. If you have type-c ports, you will need to purchase a type-c to type-c USB cable separately. Best regards, Laurence Clarke // Focusrite Technical Support |
Question: | Does the XLR input only record audio to the left side |
Answer: | Hi, When recording a single microphone, you should ensure that you create a mono audio track in your DAW instead of a stereo audio track. When you record onto a mono audio track, the output from that track will be heard on both sides of your headphones or speakers (ensuring the output is set to stereo), however, if you record onto a stereo track, the audio will just be recorded onto the left side of a stereo file and you will ony hear it on the left of your headphones/speakers. This is explained in more detail here: https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/206849779?flash_digest=62885ef974b4eb116f3b3ea2c9b9c38ddb871473 Best regards, Laurence Clarke // Focusrite Technical Support |

eMedia Piano and Keyboard Method offers everything you need to learn how to play! Piano instructor, Irma Irene Justicia, M.A., who has taught at the renowned Juilliard School of Music, guides you through over 300 step-by-step full-screen lessons. Instant Feedback works with both electronic keyboards and acoustic pianos! It listens as you play melodies and shows whether you're playing correctly. ATTENTION MAC USERS - Beginning with macOS 10.15 (Catalina), Apple has eliminated the option to run 32-bit apps on the Mac. If you wish to continue using our applications, which currently require 32-bit support, do not upgrade your operating system past Mac OS 10.14 (Mojave). Alternatively, you can retain an older Mac operating system on a separate drive partition. eMedia developers are currently working on software updates to support Catalina and future versions of macOS, but this is a major undertaking. eMedia is currently unable to foresee how long it will take to create these new versions. If you purchased your eMedia software on or after September 7, 2019, upon receiving proof of purchase eMedia Music will provide you with a free upgrade to a macOS 10.15 (Catalina)-compatible version of an eMedia application when it becomes available. All other registered owners of eMedia software will be qualified for discounted upgrades.
- Over 300 easy-to-follow piano lessons from distinguished Juilliard instructor including more than 70 video demonstrations.
- Learn over 100 popular songs in a variety of genres: classical, blues, pop, and rock. Includes hit songs from artists such as Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, and Elton John!
- eMedia’s Animated Keyboard shows fingerings as the music plays.
- Select any section of a song or exercise and you can loop it, speed it up, or slow it down for focused practice. Select your own pace as you play along to color accompaniment tracks.
- Instant Feedback shows when you play the correct notes in melodies. This works with both electronic keyboards and acoustic pianos.
- Interactive Evaluation Feedback offers detailed feedback on your playing and scores your performance on songs and exercises. This type of feedback requires a MIDI-connected electronic keyboard.
- Progress Tracking tracks your progress through the course including completed exercises and your best scores along the way.
- Lesson screens are fully scalable and include the option for full-screen video.
User questions & answers
Question: | Does anyone know how it connects to Yamaha clp |
Answer: | Make sure your keyboard is connected and recognized by your computer via USB/MIDI (e.g., proper drivers installed, if required). Please ask Yamaha for help if that part gives you trouble. Once you have established that your keyboard is recognized by your computer, then launch eMedia Piano and Keyboard Method and open "Instrument Setup" from the Options menu. Click the checkboxes are follows: 1) Electronic keyboard/piano, 2) Yes (connected via USB/MIDI), and finally 3) select "from my keyboard (speakers or audio output)" since your keyboard will produce its own sounds (best option for lowest latency). To confirm that everything is working correctly, play a few notes on your piano. You should see the "Keyboard test" light turn green in the window. Close the "Instrument Setup" window, and you're ready to go. You will hear the lesson content (songs, videos, etc) from your computer speakers, but the sound of your playing will come from your Yamaha piano. I hope that helps! |
Question: | Does this come with a midi-usb connector |
Answer: | Dear Molivia, my apologies for the delay. Since I bought the digital version (image of dvd plus the key) Im not sure! but it can be easily acquired here in Amazon, like I did. http://www.amazon.com/HDE-Cable-Converter-Music-Keyboard/dp/B001LJUVO4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1386874498&sr=8-1&keywords=midi+usb. |
Question: | There are multiple MIDI keyboard sizes on Amazon from 25 to 88 keys. What is the minimum number of keys needed to successfully play all featured songs? I'd hate to be playing along and run off the end of the keyboard |
Answer: | Chiming in from eMedia here. All of the songs and exercise in this curriculum can be played with a four octave (e.g., 49-key) keyboard. If you already one of these you will have no trouble using this course. If you are shopping for a new keyboard, you may wish to consider your future needs beyond the eMedia software. The range of a five octave keyboard is usually enough to accompany yourself with your left hand as you play a melody with your right hand, and if you search for "eMedia piano pack" you'll see a few inexpensive options that we offer bundled with this software. That said, the full range of the piano is a joy to experience so go for the full 88-keys if you have the budget. Wishing you lots of success! |
Question: | I was led to beleive by some of the answers here that this program cam with a cable. But I didn't get one. Was there supposed to be any cables provided? I think my keyboard (also new and still in the box) only has a USB port. What cable would I need? *very blonde today* thanks for your patience |
Answer: | Hi Julia...no, the software does not come with any type of cables. The answer to what type of cable you need to buy depends on what type of device you're planning on connecting to your keyboard. For example, if you're planning on using a computer - all computers use a rectangular connector (also known as a 'Type B' connector). You need to look at the back of your keyboard and determine what type of connector it requires. It may be rectangular (like your computer) or it may be square (also known as a 'Type A' connector. This will tell you if you need a Type A (because the keyboard has a square connector)/Type B cable (standard rectangular connector), or a Type B/Type B Cable. The Type A/Type B is most common and is nothing more than a standard printer cable. You can find those for around $6. No need to spend any more than that. Hope this helps. |
