Question:	How many many chickens would fit in here
Answer:	This cage is really large which is one of the things I loved about it. I would recommend getting the "litter box" add on attachment. I have a silver fox who is quite large, but the reason I moved him back to his old cage is because this one doesn't have the grate in the bottom. He uses his litterbox in the old cage, but in this one he was urinating everywhere so to me it felt a lot more unsanitary. If your rabbit is good about using his litter box then I think this cage with the attachment will be a good choice.

Answer:	You can apply it over your dried paint. Doesn’t have to be freshly painted. I waited about 2 days to put the clear coat on. Make sure there is no dust or dirt on it a easy wipe down with a tack or just damp clothe. I have a dog and cat, so I wanted to make sure I wouldn’t paint any fur into it. I did two coats of the clear because of missed spots. Did them 1-3 days apart.

Answer:	I wouldn’t see why not it’s made of solid plastic. You might not want to wash something with chicken poop on it in the same dishwasher you wash your dishes with. Drop them in a bucket with bleach water and spray the rest off does an excellent job of fully cleaning it.

Answer:	No, even though these are stiff it doesn't appear to bother our chickens. One time I tried putting some straw on them, but that just made a mess and hard to clean.

Answer:	You don't have to put anything over them, but most hens like to pull hay up around them. It is their instinct to hide themselves and their nests. Putting the mats in under the hay helps prevent the hay from getting kicked out.

Answer:	They are liquid permeable and are washable to get rid of the solids. I have had them in my nesting boxes for a year and have not washed them. I have them in the bottom of the box with straw on top. The straw is held in place by the mat and can be removed and shaken to remove any gunk. These are amazing.
