Answer:	I don't recall a rubber smell, but I have year round allergies and can't smell that well. It did feel sort of waxy and I picked out some red non-organic particles (plastic maybe?) out of the mat. I let it sit out for a week or two and washed it before adding it to the tank. Answer:	To expand on the other answers: Yes the monitor supports VESA mounting (100x100) and yes the recessed mounting points make it a pain if your mounting plate is slightly too big. The depth of the recessed cavity is ~7mm (which is just a hair over 1/4th inch) so plan on ordering spacers that are, at minimum, that wide. Answer:	If I remember correctly, it came off very easy and didn’t leave any residue behind. Because of the texture of the bowl, the sticker didn’t stick as well as it would have on the bottom of the bowl, making it easy to come off.
