Answer:	well you could filter salt water with it, but it still wouldn't be potable to humans =)

Answer:	You'll have to go on the data sheet from the manufacturer on the filter fiber diameter since no consumer can reasonably measure the filter tube diameters. And you'll have to do research on bad virus sizes to determine if those viruses will be blocked. But I'll say as a consumer of this filter over twelve days on the trail, serving 4 people (48 people-days) on the AT, no gastro-issues. And the filtering flow rate is amazingly fast.

Answer:	Everything that you see illustrated. There are two reservoirs, the filter and the hose. The only thing not included is the optional carbon filter which isn't neccessary. If you do opt to purchase the carbon filter, keep in mind that it slows down the filtration time drastically.

Answer:	I have connected to both. Ice is not completely clear, but sediment does not settle out of the ice while melting in a clear glass of water! You might need parts. Don't know your water line size. Consider replacing your existing water filter on your ice maker while your doing this. I did not need parts.

Answer:	While there would be no chlorine down stream of the RO cartridge, the water in tank should be too low in nutrients/food for any significant bacterial growth

Answer:	A SS pressure vessel is not at all needed. Prop 65 is literally plastered over anything and everything in CA. These RO systems have to pass many certifications and are legal under the uniform plumbing code, the CA plumbing code as well as the Los Angeles plumbing code. Leaching is not an issue. Question:	Why is s drain required? Is it just for overflow tray
Answer:	The drain is required because of the Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration incorporated inside of the dispenser. RO is a slow "squeezing" process of the water where all the minerals and contaminants are removed. Approximately for every 3 gallons of "good" clean water it makes, it will empty a gallon of "bad" mineral rich water down the drain. All RO systems require a feed source water line in as well as a drain line out. I hope this helps MMWP

Question:	Does this filter remove hormones
Answer:	The answer "ROES-50 system uses a high quality, .0001 micron Reverse Osmosis membrane and 3 carbon filters so it is designed to remove high levels of hormones and pharmaceutical drugs from water" is troublesome. Terms like "high quality" and "high levels" are arbitrary, and it's a safe bet people don't want arbitrary amounts of contaminants removed.
Question:	Hi apec, i see your offshore imitator is offering transparent 1st stage filter housings, why don't you offer one as well
Answer:	I bought the ROES-50 RO system in January 2016 and for the most part it has been great. Bought the pump to go with it as well as an auxiliary accumulator tank to use in addition to the smaller bladder tank that comes with the system so we can draw a couple of gallons of RO water at near full pressure at one go (set to 60 psi), and have the output plumbed to the sink faucet and two refrigerators with ice makers and water dispensers. I say all of this to say that I change the filters quite a bit and that it would be nice to be able to see the condition of the filters without having to shut off the supply from the house plumbing, and shut off both of the pressure tank valves as well as the system backfeed valve I installed just to get a look at the filters. I have a well and have two of the "dreaded" clear Whirlpool whole home water filter units, one at point of entry before the well bladder tank, and one after my water softener system and before my UV sterilizer, both of which have been in service for 18 years without issue. Everything is installed in my utility room on the wall for easy access, and I replace the O-rings in the filter housings about every third filter change and wash the housings out with a bleach solution, rinse them well and lubricate the O-rings with silicone grease when installing new filters every time I change a filter, and never ever tighten any of them tighter than hand tight unless there is a drip, but I can't recall there ever being one. I don't understand why people have filter housings break unless they are being over tightened, installed in a harsh environment exposed to the elements, or somewhere where they are subject to being hit with things and getting damaged physically, or in direct sunlight and subjected to UV radiation. Therefore I wish there was an option to purchase clear housings for the ROES-50 filters in order to make proper maintenance as easy as the rest of my system, because other than that, the only complaint I have with the ROES-50 is that the white bladder tank that came with it leaks air and I have to repressurize it about every six months. The larger blue auxiliary tank I bought has yet to need to be repressurized.

Question:	Does it require professional installation? I have no idea what goes on under my sink
Answer:	The system is packaged with the idea of do it yourself so you don't have to get professional help. Many of our customers were able to install it themselves by following the very comprehensive installation manual that we include in the package. However, if you are not comfortable installing the system, any local plumber should have no trouble installing it for you in an hour or so at most.

Answer:	Our system can be hooked up to the ice-maker on the fridge with proper connections. It can either be tee off so that it sends water to both the included faucet and the ice-maker or to the ice-maker or our included faucet by itself.
Question:	How often do the filters need replacing and what is the cost
Answer:	I use a 1-3-5 year schedule and my filter works as well now as the day I installed it: * Every year I replace the first three stages or the large vertical filters @$30-$50 if purchased separately * Every three years I replace the fifth stage filter, horizontal filter on the top @$20-$30 if purchased separately * Every five years I replace the fourth stage reverse osmosis filter @$30-$40 if purchased separately You can usually get a discount and get all five stages for @$125-$135. If you try to save money and not replace your filters as scheduled, you will probably foul up the stages behind it even faster. For example, if you try to save money by not replacing the first three filter stages you will end up having to replace stages four and five way more often. Answer:	One of the primary reasons for using EcoBio-Block is that it removes ammonia, but because it uses live beneficial bacteria, it takes some time. It usually takes about 2 weeks, but it depends on the conditions in your tank.

Question:	How exactly does this work how will a tablet flip the ph up or down? Or is there tablets for ph up and ph down in this box? Nothing else does both
Answer:	I have one of these, and I have 6 panda corys and 3 "Virginia" corys, and it has not hurt them. Actually, the fishes all ignore it. This thing isn't needed for anything. To get rid of ammonia and nitrite, use as large a filter as you can afford, and only put sponges and biomax (porous ceramic pellets) inside it. NO "ammonia remover" and other bags of "removers": those actually make the ammonia stay! A local aquarium store employee gave me that very handy tip, after I had had ammonia for weeks on end. Once I got that advice, the ammonia and nitrite disappeared and have never returned. People like Fluval should be reprimanded for peddling "ammonia remover" and their other granules in bags. The Fluval filters are good, though. I went for the 306 external filter and got rid of all my internal filters. The aquarium is 2' long, 18" high and 1' from front to back.So, don't waste your money on gimmicks like this (though I did leave mine in the aquarium) and bags of granules.
Question:	Is it safe for invertebrates? Is there any cooper in the formula
Answer:	It depends, I have 3 and only 1 has white spots, however it is also in a different set up, the white spots formed within the first 3 weeks and haven't done anything since, they look like hard water buildup, but I haven't noticed that it impacts the water quality. After we finished cycling the water has been perfect and I know there have a been a few times where I went 5 or 6 weeks between changing water and haven't had any issue. The aquarium that has the white spot is the one that suffers most from evaporation so I wonder if it has something to do with that, we lose about 5 gallons every other week to evaporation, so it may be related to hard water buildup, but the fish are happy and colors are vibrant and water tests at Petsmart are perfect every time, so I don't worry about it and hasn't been a problem for me.
