Answer:	There are no holes at all and the lid fits on very snugly with a fairly good seal. I see no way that any cat could ever get into this. It's an excellent choice if you have cats.

Answer:	Auto shutoff for what purpose? Two possibilities would be: A timer would switch it ff and on at prearranged times. For a malfunction due to no water going through, you will ideally want to power it through a ground fault interrupt circuit so in the event the water source accidentally runs dry the pump will not burn out.

The PetSafe Drinkwell 360 and Ceramic Pet Fountain Pump can be used as a replacement or as a back-up pump during pump cleanings. It is compatible with the PetSafe Drinkwell Multi-Tier, 360 Plastic and Stainless Steel, Zen, Avalon, Pagoda, Sedona, Seascape, Creekside and Seaside fountains.

Take the Pump Apart

Remove the blue faceplate by using your finger to pull on the small tab on the side.

Remove the Stator

Remove the blue teardrop shaped stator by pulling up on the small lip.

Remove the Impeller

Use a fingernail to pull out the impeller, which is held in place magnetically. Clean the pump parts with warm water and soap, then reassemble.

2. If the product suddenly stop working or makes noises, which may caused by debris blockage. Please clean it regularly，about once every two weeks, or add some olive oil on the rotor.

3.Please pay attention to the water level and layout of the tank before purchasing. If there is too little water, the motor power is too high, and as the water level changes, the splashed water will make a lot of noise. Different pumps are suitable for different water tanks.

4. The maximum flow rate is 400GPH; there might be a plus-minus tolerance, Insufficient power and insufficient frequency would affect the flow rate.If connected with a water pipe, the maximum flow rate would less than 400GPH. If the water sprays out the container, the flow rate would also less than 400GPH.

Answer:	Not sure what you’re asking. The pump is designed to operate under water, pumping water through a small line in a fountain. It is not designed to run “dry.” It will operate dry, if necessary, but I do not know long it will rum in a dry condition, but it can run for a short time without water, but not for long.
