Answer:	Hi. There is no lid on the top of the aquarium and the filter sits on the right hand side. It's a nice filter does a great job. We clean it once a week and replace the charcoal bag once a month. The yearly cost for the filters is about 11.99. It has a nice waterfall effect to it. Answer:	I think you will be happy with this filter. I am using one in my 200 gal fish tank I like it because 1. it is a good filter 2. It keeps the water oxygenated. ( lot's of bubbles ) :-) when I get my 75 gal tank ready I all ready have one for it.

Answer:	I have the Cascade 100 and think this may be my problem too. I take it apart, clean it, refill it, and it works for maybe a day or so then the water level goes down to a trickle. I tried playing around with the flow adjuster and it doesn't seem to do anything at all. It's so annoying! I can't seem to find a way to permanently fix it! I also have a Cascade 20 and have no issues with it at all.

Question:	I have a 60 gallon fresh. Should i use two smalls or two large filters
Answer:	I don't use this for my Betta tanks (I have 7 Betta only tanks) only my 50 gallon cichlids tank because bettas are such hardy fish they can survive in most conditions. For my Betta tanks I use tap water and the aquasafe (a dechlorinator) and they're happy as can be. But the test strips are very easy to read. just go online to look at the general parameters they should be in before you do the test. If you do purchase these read the instructions some of the strips you have to read right away and some you have to wait a few minutes.
Question:	What's the expected life of this product? Is there a replacement sponge available
Answer:	Yes. 4 of the 5 tests work for saltwater also. Only the GH (general hardness) does not work for saltwater.
Question:	How the filter add oxygen level without air circulation? I guess water out hose must be above water surface, correct
Answer:	I found them easy to read and liked that the chart is printed on the container that holds the strips so it's readily available. When I first got my kit, I read the instructions and using a felt tipped pen, circled the values that my tank should be at for each test, so when I performed a test I could check it immediately instead of referring back to the instructions each time.
Question:	Is the amount of biochemical ceramic balls used once
Answer:	Just remember that most of these test kits or strips for aquarium use report their results as "nitrate ion" or "nitrite ion", while the EPA standard for drinking water is expressed as "nitrate as nitrogen" or "nitrite as nitrogen". Thus, your aquarium test kit or strip will report a value considerably higher than what it "should" for comparison with a lab test or the EPA standards. This causes a lot of people to needlessly worry.

Answer:	Absolutely. In fact mine came with a cover that fits over the front that allows a hose to be attached making the customizing much easier. I us the hose to run the output under the gravel to the other end of my 20 long to create a more natural 1 direction flow for my creek dwelling fish.

Answer:	No it needs to be submerged to work properly. I have a red eared slider almost 8in long in a zoo med turtle tub and when I turned it sideways to have it submerged, my turtle would knock it loose. It wasn't helpful for my set up.

Answer:	I use 2 on a well stocked 40 gallon freshwater tank, and 2 on a mid stocked 20 marine tank. They are super quiet.

Answer:	No it doesn't. I haven't found a UV light necessary for my pond setup. It is outdoors, in the middle of the Pacific tropical climate.
Question:	Will water be crystal clear
Answer:	Water will be clear when you first start it. Depending on what type of marine life you are housing will be how clear the water remains. I have an eastern painted turtle and the tank needs to be cleaned monthly because they are dirty reptiles. I imagine that fish are much cleaner and the tank can be cleaned less frequently. But you still need to do periodic cleanings according to the instructions.

Answer:	yes, only if you get it completely under the water.

Answer:	There's a tiny sight glass near the bottom on the front of the unit. The room and tank must be completely dark to see the glow from it.

Answer:	Yes there is. There is a big space between filters and back if filter. I have fluval ceramic rings in mine.

Answer:	I have 4 inches from the back of my Aquarium and the wall. There is 1 inch between the back of the Filter and the wall.
Question:	how do to maintence on 350 marine penguin power filter
Answer:	Generally good answers...these blue pads clog quickly, I like to rinse all my filters, but these really "hold" the detritus. OF course I would normally rinse filter pads in a bucket of old aquarium water DURING the water change. But tapwater is usually fine too . So, get the reusable frames they sell for 2 or 3 dollars. At least the blue pads are cheap on amazon and WM for a 6 pack.

Answer:	The base is heavy, yes. I don't know about the hose but I believe you don't need to remove it. I would recommend getting the smaller jiffy steamer with the plastic water container instead of this. This one is not much more powerful and very cumbersome.

Answer:	If you want a good, reasonably-priced floor steamer, I would recommend a Shark. I've had one for a couple of years now, and I love it! I paid well less than $100 for it; though I don't remember exactly what I paid, I believe it was even less than $50 on sale at a local big box.

Question:	How long is the spray bar end to end
Answer:	I own the biomaster 350 and 600. I haven't cleaned them in 4-5 months. And when I do, I only have to pull the pre-filter out to clean it. the majority of the gunk is caught there. So in answer to your question this unit does not have activated carbon, but you can buy it and fill one of the filter trays with it. It comes with 4 stage external filters with biological, mechanical and chemical filtration and a pre-filter. The trays are large. To be honest this is a excellent external filter. They may cost a little more. But get what you pay for in this case.
Question:	What is the diameter of the hosing
Answer:	Hi, The built-in heater provides your aquarium with precise and uniform temperature levels with adjustable control. The heater is on a separate power cord from the filter. Hope this helps!

Answer:	Absolutely...it harbors a ton of beneficial bacteria and is claimed to be far more efficient than other forms of media. These big blocks are also supposed to harbor both aerobic bacteria at the surface and anaerobic bacteria at its core.
Question:	I have an aquaponics setup where nitrates are actually good for the plants. Will one block in a 300 gallon syatem remove too many nitrates
Answer:	I have a 620 gallon reef aquarium I have 10 blocks and I have higher nitrates then I want
Question:	Another reviewer mentioned aluminum possibly coming from this product and leaching into tank. Anyone with a reef using this having issues
Answer:	Have 6 blocks ,... In a 1000gallon sps tank.,,, these are the single best purchase I have made in the filtration setup. No leaching aluminum as per my trident teats

Answer:	Verify with the seller, but it seems just putting this in your tank would be same as putting your cars air filter in the back seat. The media needs flow.
