Answer:	It can suck out objects that are 1/2 to 3/4 in diameter, so leaves should be no problem. It may get clogged up and you will need to unclog it occasionally. I am a plumber and this is the best pump I've ever bought. Use it for sewer pits all the time. Sturdy, indestructible. Don't leave it in water for a long time, say weeks, it is not stainless, so it will rust.
Question:	Hello, Is this the complete gasket replacement set for this filter? Or, is there another which includes additional parts
Answer:	We use it to pump some pretty nasty water that pools up at the corner of our commercial property. We hooked it up to a 100' hose and shoot it out to the main storm drain. It's a pretty powerful little pump. I'm not sure how many gallons but it's like a decent sized round fountain worth of water and mud and leaves that goop up back there. I highly recommend this pump. Been using it for about 5 months now and have never had any problems with it. It's quick and puts to shame any little pump you would find in a Home Depot or Lowes.
Question:	What is the inner diameter of this tube? I need to know to match with an inline heater
Answer:	I pushed it uphill about 150 feet with no issue. Please remember - this is a low pressure pump so if you are going to be just moving water, it is great. If you are looking for moving and pressure, you will not get.

Answer:	Mine was milky/foggy colored. Not totally clear. But is identical to original tubing that came with canister.

Answer:	This gasket set covers the lid. But that's all the places where there were gaskets anyway. One gasket is the lip of the canister. One gasket is for the impeller assembly. And the other ones are for the inlet and outlet...I think. It's been a while. The impeller and the canister lip I'm sure of. I'm not 100% on the inlet/outlet. I'm sorry.
Question:	What's the difference between this and api's regular all-white micro filtration pads? does this work better
Answer:	The inner diameter (ID) is 17mm, NOT 5/8". I have tried using many different 5/8" tube from hardware stores, and there are two consistent issues: 1) that stuff is not nearly as flexible as the original rena/api tubing, and 2) to fit it onto the canister requires a heat gun, and you have to cut it off the filter. If you're like me, and frequently lose siphon during water changes, 5/8" tube is impossible to work with. That's why I'm here buying this, because I've not found anything else that works, and I've tried all of my local (major metro) fish and reef stores.

Answer:	It's about 6"x6" square and 1" thick. I didn't measure, but that's within a half inch on the side measurements, and a quarter inch of the thickness1. So, no, you won't be able to get a 4' strip from it. You can buy filter material that is not cut down so small already, so that you can make custom shapes/sizes. I don't know of any that come large enough to make a 4', but perhaps a place that sells to professional aquariums would carry stuff that big.

Answer:	It is packed with 20pcs for one order.

Answer:	The XP-L only comes with 5 bio stars and a bag of carbon. The XP-L needs 30-35 bio stars and each bag of media is designated for a 55 gallon tank. So if you use Bio-Chem, Phos-zorb, carbon, or any other media you'll need two bags of each for this canister. U can also use bulk media and your own reusable bags. Not sure what is cheaper.
Question:	what gallon is this filter cartridge for
Answer:	According to testing it runs about 450 gph. This rating is what you commonly see when you look at a gph rate, but most companies test the product empty. Once you fill it with media and hook up the hoses and stuff you end up with about 200 gph. I set up my tanks with more filtration then a lot of people, so for me, this filter is ideal for a 55 gallon tank, or 75 gallon tank with medium bio-load. I ran two of these and two Emperor 400 filters on my 150 gallon tank with high bio-load and the water was clear. I mention this because the box states it can handle up to a 265 gallon aquarium, which it probably could if the tank was heavily plants and lightly stocked and the filter was cleaned every 2 weeks, which are things that usually don't happen.

Answer:	I am rather certain it is 1". I am assuming you are referring to the thread size. Again I believe with good comfidence it is 1: NPT. Although an assortment of barbed nipples comes with the pump. I used 1" corrugated hose to service my old fashioned cast iron hand pump at the top of my spillway barrel. The pump supplies so much water that I had to dial it down to the minimum setting!

Answer:	I'm not sure that I fully understand you question and so to answer I'll tell you what I've done. The pump itself is approximately 9.5" high. The top part being the outlet pipe. I've set the pump on the bottom of the pond which is 22" deep. I have attached to the outlet pipe a hose that leads the water up to my waterfall which stands about 5' above the outlet pipe. My pond holds approximately 750 gals and the pressure from the pump is more than adequate. Hope that helps.

Answer:	Yes, any kind of filter media will work well with this. The canister has two partitions, one for the sponge which covers the intake pipe and another one for filter media. I filled mine with ceramic rings and am not using the carbon bag at all.
Question:	with a supply pump of 800gph can the filter function without the internal pum
Answer:	There are two sliding parts with orange rimmed "buttons" on either side of the top. Press the orange buttons on and slide the mobile parts in opposite directions. There is a really good YouTube video from Zoo Med that shows how to open and set up the filter.

Answer:	ID looks like 5/16 OD 7/16 or about ID 8 mm OD 12 - length is 20 inchs

1. UV light/glass cover broken/doesn't work : if damaged, send us an email and some pictures about it, we will resend you a replacement. If not, rotate the top lid 180 degree, and try it again. Because there is only an inductive part on one side.
2. Missing pieces: We may miss some pieces when packing, please send us an email if any part is missing.
3. Leaking: Please check if the glass cover was broken. If not, make sure all pieces are assembled correct, adjust the o-seal ring on the top lid and put the filter lower than your tank, and make sure water can get through the green hoses soomthly.
4. Loud noise from the motor: You may need to check the impeller on the top lid if there is anything in it, and clean it. And then try it again.
5. Not pump water: Press the blue button on the top lid to compel the extra air out of the canister. And try it again.
6. The flow is slow: Add enough water into the tank, and adjust the cotton and medias.

Answer:	unsure. it works really, really well. tough plastic. would recommend the 1/3 HP = much faster

Answer:	3/4 and 5/8 hoses have the same fittings. Only the hose is a different diameter. 3/4 obviously flows more because it’s larger. But his fittings are standard.
Question:	Is there any way i can get the inlet pipe in the picture, with the surface skimmer instead of the straight pipe i received
Answer:	This is a manually operated pump that you will have to plug in and unplug every time you want to pump water. It will pump with only an inch of water until dry.
